I Have No Life
My only fear of the Mustang going global is the car having to meet the regulations of all the countries it will be sold in. I could be wrong but doesn't Europe have stricter safety standards (like the engine being lowered farther in the engine bay). Some of these things could effect styling and raise the cost of the car. I remember hearing something about this in the past when GM began selling the 2010 Camaro in Europe.
As far as the clip goes I think the different markets will have their own engines. I Don't see the V8 being a big seller in Europe but a turbo 4 or 6 could be a hit.

You guys look way too far into things. I heard no turbo in any of those notes. Take the tin foil hats off that they were secretly putting upcoming exhaust note footage in there...
From the article I read, it sounds like the current car will be over there shortly, not the 2015 redesign. Trying to find the article now.

Notice the way the roof line of the Mondeo 4 door and 5 door are identical...how would you like the choice of a hatch and coupe on the next Mustang...Europe likes hatches and the US likes coupes (trunks or for Twin Turbo...Boots)

It took Ford global design gadabout J Mays to explain just what "One Ford" actually means. "One Ford means appropriate for the global market," he said, "or at least multi-regional. So Focus, C-Max, Fiesta, Kuga, and the new Mondeo are appropriate for global markets, but there are exceptions. S-Max and Galaxy are not appropriate for US markets and looking the other way, it would be a brave man who suggested importing a full-sized F150 pickup truck to Europe from the States."
The Mustang, however, is the exception that (dis-)proves the rule. This 2003 J Mays "retro-futurist" design (launched in 2005) has proved a big hit in the States, selling more than 750,000 in the six years to 2011. "It fits into the idea that we can sell globally," said Mays, "and there's such pent-up demand for the car. I promise it will still be a big US muscle car when it comes to Europe."

Motor Trend had a whole article on it, automakers can get credits for reaching a certain MPG average. As long as the overall average of the cars meets a certain range they can have an occasional gas guzzler. Another thing being considered is automakers being able to trade credits with other companies, ex: Ford can reach mpg goal for 20XX, so they can purchase credits from Toyota that exceeds the MPG requirement.

The original Ford Capri from 1969 was introduced as the European answer to the Mustang and it seems now Europe will finally get a real Mustang this time.

Thing is though, unless they bring the current car over in VERY low numbers, they'd have to pass Euro crash regs etc. Can't see them doing that. If the numbers are low, then they'd just have to get the car's lighting coverted to pass the IVA (Individual Vehicle Approval).......just the same as anyone that personally imports a Mustang. For Ford, that's a walk in the park.

If it does come in RHD and without a V8, then it would have made perfect sense to try and turn it into a Capri.
The V8 Perana was a South African special.........but I have many happy memories of my old Mk3 2.8 Injections (Cologne V6). Sure, it'd cost a bit to engineer two bodies (Mustang and Capri), but it'd be worth it in my mind.

Volkswagen did a great job with a new Scirocco. It's still a FWD, I4 (turbo and diesel) and Golf based, but it's still a fun car. Ford should do something similar with Capri (Focus based).

Ah, but the Scirroco was always a FWD 4-cylinder. Capri was a 7/10ths Mustang, RWD and a meaty V6.
By all means make a FWD coupe, but call it a Puma.

Wasn't the Cougar based of Mondeo? It was little too big ...
Maybe Capri should be something similar to Toyota GT86/Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ ... Lightweight, RWD, a powerful 4-cyl ...
