Drove a 2.3Eco Premium (Auto)
Sorry to hear your disappointment, but I think maybe you set your marks way too high on it.
You're comparing your tuned 4.6 V8 to a stock 2.3Eco4
In no way would I ever compare those.
You're comparing an entry level car to your GT, that is not meant as a replacement or successor to the V8. Peak numbers are just that. Numbers.
For a base style car, it's got a lot of potential and yes I was impressed with it, for what it is. I wasn't shooting for the moon on it.
The door switchgear may act the same, but it is different. Not sure if you wanted a new fangled way of opening windows or unlocking doors. Not really sure on that one.
You can't seriously say with a straight face that your 05 GT seats are in the same league as the 15s. The 05s are torture racks by comparison. Not sure if you have a physical build that you just couldnt get the seats right, which could be the case, and that would suck.
You're right, I wouldn't trade in my GT for an Eco. V8 all the way.
And the price to get into a premium one, even in Canada, the price is pretty high.
Which also means the GT is even higher.
It's always been like that. Want the toys, pull out the wallet.

So I head on down to Eastgate Ford in Hamilton, ON to visit my friends there and check out the '15 they have on the lot.
They have a White 2.3Eco Premium Automatic with Nav and Anniversary Package.I wasn't in love with that package seeing it online, but it REALLY looks nice on white.
Words I never thought I'd say....

Nice review buddy. The white does look nice.
I wouldn't mind owning a 15'. Sure, it is NOTHING like the S197. The S550's are considerably more (with the same options) as my S197 was... Not too sure that I would have been able to order the same packages if I ordered the 15. Sure, there are lots of things people may or may not like due to its radical change in body etc, its still a nice car and will sell like hot cakes.

Boomer is ***** on accurate when he says the car looks better in person. My local Ford store just received a 2015 Mustang with the EcoBoost motor. I had the opportunity to briefly sit inside of the car (I am on duty at the firehouse and was returning from a call when I spied the car parked in front of the dealership) The materials, fit and finish are miles beyond what is in the Mistress. They have a 2015 GT coming in shortly, the salesman who sold me the Mistress 8 years ago will call me when it comes in.

LOL, you're right there, my 2005 seats are terrible. So were my 2002 and 1998 ones as well. I did really like my 1989 'Stang's seats, but they weren't power anything except lumbar and have long since hit the landfill I am sure.
My comment was that I could not get comfortable in the new ones. I am 5'11" and weigh 195 lbs. I struggled with the adjustments for a while but the seat just felt like it was forcing me in a weird angle. Also, the padding was less than desirable. Of course, this was a test driver car, so maybe I was just experiencing something that was pre-thrashed anyways?
My main point was not to thread-crap here, but to just express my feelings that I expected the moon and stars for the 2015 upgrade, but felt that the car is... less...
I'll go check out a convertible GT when those become available, I am willing to take another look and have my mind changed!
I'll agree with the padding comment. I felt it in both my '10 and '12... but despite that, the seating position was just perfect for me at 6'1/245. Never been more comfortable overall than in those seats. The GT premium I sat in the other day was the same.
I like the seats in my 05 GT. However, I had a chance to sit in a 2015 GT this morning. Man, those seats are awesome. Actually, the whole car looked awesome. I'm probably going to hold off for another year, but I really like the new Mustang. It will be an EB4 though, not a GT.
I'm getting the EB in the spring or summer and although I personally haven't driven one I have close friends who have and really love the car. They also drove 2015 GTs as well. Nothing against the V8 it's just that at this point in my life I want something fast enough, that handles incredibly well.. Is nicely appointed and looks so good I can't get more than 10 ft from the car without turning my head around to look at it. This Mustang does all of that and more. I saw the GT in person today, got to sit in it and I'm just hooked. The EB is the same physical car so it does it for me!
Great review! I can't wait to drive one... well maybe I can... I like my car and want to keep liking it. lol
But for those who say the seats just aren't comfortable. There's an entire other world of cars out there built for ONLY that. Try Buick.
Mustangs are made for someone else...
