I own the 2012 GT. I have just over 20,000 miles on it and it's been great except for one problem. There's a groan/squeak noise from the front lower control arms when it's 90+ degrees and from the rear sway bar end links when it's below 30 degrees. The dealer replaced the control arms 4 times but the noise is still there. It sounds like the spring of an old mattress when it hits a pot hole or bump. Two questions. Do you think this will be fixed with the redesigned 2015 mustang? How much do you think I can trade my '12 in the spring of 2015? assuming I'll have less than 30,000 miles on it.

And first year designs typically have more issues than the follow up years. That is why I would never buy a release year vehicle. They need at least the first year to work out the bugs.

I know all first year redesigns have problems, but the 2011/2012 redesign seemed to have a whopping number of problems. Engine ticks, transmission issues, loud squeaking suspensions, etc.

All the suspension pieces are going to be different, so if there were some inherent flaw in the current design, it would not be in the 2015. I don't recall seeing other people saying they have had the problem you are having so I don't think it's a problem inherent in the design, it sounds like there is something uniquely off with your particular car.

Since you've replaced the control arms 4 times and the noise is still there, is it possible the noise is coming from something else?

I'm not aware of anybody here that worked in the design or build of the new Mustang so not sure how you expect anybody here to have the answer to this. Wait until the car is out for sale before asking this type of questions.

every time the dealer replaces the front lower control arms, the noise goes away for roughly a month. in 85-90+ weather it returns and sounds like a 20 year old car. Ford did not come up with a fix and will mostly not invest in a fix being that the 2015 will be here in a year. My warranty is up in 2 months and I'm stuck with this issue. It's terrible driving around with this noise but I'll have to learn to deal with it, planning to get a louder exhaust. I'm wondering if they fixed it in the 2015.

Not that I have read your extended thread, but is it possible that the diagnosis going on is really not finding the root cause of your particular car's issue issue?

The front suspension in the 2015 is redesigned, so no one knows yet what will happen in the field. The shock tower angle is different, and while it is still a strut, the lower links are a different configuration.

I had mine done.Did they do the latest fix? They add stablizers and also a protective shield all they way across. I have only had the fix a month. No issues yet. I can get pics if you need.... They claim it's from the engine heat. We will see.

I see where this is going.

It's a new car with new parts. Moving on.
