Dealer has my ordered car listed for sale!!

I was on the website for my dealer browsing and found a listing for a 2015 that looked like the one I ordered. I clicked into the listing and saw the VIN listed only to find it was MY vin! The dealer said ford lists them automatically. Not sure what to believe. Anybody else experience this?

MFG automatic listing once the vehicle hits their inventory, pretty standard. Now if you see it on another web site that's driven by the dealer.

It is true that on many Ford dealer websites that Ford posts cars automatically. However, the dealers accounting system feeds info to the website and will eventually override what Ford posts to update sold vehicles. I was our dealership's internet director for 8 years and worked diligently to update our inventory online daily - a tough task!

Ford puts the cars up on the inventory as soon as they ship. The last 2 cars I got I found on the ford inventory site, went to the dealer and they were like, "We don't have that car yet".

Putting them on there web sight is normal if they do not mark the ordered car as sold. Sticker should have your name on it if not it was ordered as a dealer unit.

When I was shopping for my 2014 Track Pack I checked every dealer within 50 miles looking for one to test drive. There was one listed about 30 miles away that had a status of "in route" or something like that. So I called the dealer looking to schedule a test drive and he said he would call me when it arrived. He called me back a day later to say that was one a customer had ordered. Looks like a pretty standard operating procedure.

When I finally decided on a color (black looks awesome when clean but I would not do it again) my dealer actually found one just outside my 50 mile search and had it here the next day. No ordering and waiting for me.

If I decide to get rid of the 2014 my next Mustang will be a brighter color for sure. Yellow, Orange, Red...something like that.
