Concerns about seating for tall drivers...
Hi Everybody,
Currently drive a 2011 5.0 and have a deposit down for a guaranteed allocation on the 2015...
I am 6'3" and 180. The 2011 ( and my 2006) both had lots of oeg room and head room.
I have read that the roof height is 1.5" Lower, the seat height is .74" lower which would mean a net loss of 3/4" of headroom (although I have heard that legroom is increased)
Am I the only one here concerned about head room?
Also, for those that have seen it in person...any impressions on the roominess?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
And yes...I have already searched through the forums looking for the answers...

Shelby Mama,
6'2" shouldn't be a problem I hope. I find in my current 2011 5.0 that I have plenty of headroom at almost 6'3"....I am hoping that since there is more leg room in the 2015 that I will be able to put the seat back farther and have my head under a higher point under the roofline...in theory at least this sound plausible...

6'5" here as well, not sure how you fit in an '04 StangMahn, seat bracket relo/extensions? I was maxed out in both leg and headroom driving one of those. Fit fine in S197, hoping for similar room (if not better) in the S550.

It fits like a glove! There's no really extra room, but it's not confined either. No seat extensions.

THIS...
I believe they even talked about how there was more interior room so don't fret. I think part of the reason why tall ppl (myself included at 6'2) felt tight in the S197 was the driving position, as we had to push the seat back for our legs but also sit upright to reach the wheel. if you fit in the S197 you will probably fit better in the S550 because you can actually have a proper driving position with the new telescoping wheel.

Should be fine. With the reduction in height, as well as seat position being lowered, I don't think you'll be hitting your head. I'm 6'4" and have several inches above me when I'm in the car. The other variable we don't know is if the seat cushion was slimmed down in any way.

It's interesting-Ford keeps talking about more interior space, more leg room, more trunk space....but not one word on headroom...
