Buy a 14 GTCS or go 2015???

Ok how are the new 15 owners loving the new machine? I have a smoking deal on a slightly used 2014 GTCS with 1800 miles or should I blow another 12k or so for a 2015?
Your thoughts new model shake down problems?
thanks

Eric

I just bought a 2015 and love it, but if you can save 12k that might be the way to go. However the 14 will have lower resale value down the road. It's a though call either way. I don't understand why someone would be selling a car with only 1800 miles on it, is it a car for sale at a dealer or private. Even if the car does have problems you'll have a warranty.

The only problems I think could come up would be with the IRS. I believe the drive train is a carryover from last years car. But that's what warranties are for.

That is the question. Only way I would get a 14 over a 15 is if it was a smoking deal.

About 31k this is another convertible also and ford pre owned certified, no worries about the car.
I like the looks of the rear on the 14 better and the GTCS ties for the front for me. Someone bought my red 08 and I didnt have it for sale so Im looking to fill my garage spot.

I special ordered a late 2014 GT as I honestly don't like the 2015 as much. Very much like I preferred a 1970 vs a 1971 or even a 1993 GT vs a 1994 GT.

I ended up paying $36k on a $44.5k sticker brand new.

Id go with the 14' personally. The 15' is a global car now and will be produced in astronomical numbers which means the market will be saturated with them and thus killing resale value! Another thing to keep in mined is that Ford will likely upgrade the Stang in 17' in response to the new Camaro and that may be worth waiting for! Then there will be a chit ton of 15's rotting away on parking lots if you gotta have one that would be a good time to sleel a used 15'! Good luck with your choice!

Go forward, not backwards... the latest and greatest is the way to go, but, I doubt that strangers on a forum is really going to sway your decision

edit: ...as confirmed in post #10

Im not leaning towards the 15 hardly at all just thought i would see how they have been doing. Im looking at over 15K off sticker on the 14 for only 1800 miles, hard to beat.

Buy the '14, sell the '14 for more, buy the '15.

Exactly! At the price you're getting that CS for its a steel! Sombody already took the appreciation hit, probably one of the " i gotta have the newest thing" guys, so you will be ahead from the get go! Also, that CS was probably in the $40k rang brand new. I kinda wish i would have waited for deals on the lightly used loaded up 14's myself! I only paid $30k otd though for my base with tech pack and after just one year im already ahead of the resale value! Once you get your Stang though, check out Koni yellow sport dampers! I cant believe what a difference over stock they make! Peace!

Love my 14, not a fan of the looks of the front end of the 15. From the front wheel back they are awesome. The 15 does have some very nice changes. But I have always waited a model year or even two when the make the major change they just did. Just seems to take them a little while to work the bugs out. Don't think you can go wrong with the deal on the 14.

Go with the 14. CS is a very nice car.

This makes sense. If neither the '14 or '15 is your dream car, save money where you can now so that you'll be in better position later down the road. If you like the 14, go with it.

Well I had the same question years ago, when I choose a 08 over a new model, since I liked them better and got a good deal on it, but have you seen the 2015 in person and driven one? I didnt like the rear on pictures, later I saw one in a dealer and that changed my mind completely and it drives alot better now then the previous models and interior feels alot more advanced with more leather and awsome seats and the looks of it alone just convinced me but its a personal preference

No matter what options I wouldn't pay over 30k for a 14 being as you can order a 15 for a couple grand more. No way Jose. After seeing and being behind the wheel of the 15, the 14 isn't too close IMO.

A tough choice, that's for sure!

However, having now sat in a '15 (I'm in the UK) for the first time at the weekend, I would have to ensure that really was the most smokin' deal in the world on the '14 to sway me from a '15. For me, the interior is SO much nicer than the '14, as is the rear and side profile. I love both front ends, and the '15 does look MUCH nicer in the metal.

BUT, if you like the '14 buy it. Enjoy it for a few years and then see if the '18MY refresh is more to your liking, then trade.

As for issues on the '15? Some very early cars have had panel alignment issues. Nothing serious, but not as good as they could have been. Some Ecoboosts have been recalled for a fueling issue.....but that's a handful of cars I believe.

Good luck

I totally agree 100% with Adam's post, and despite having just 1,800k miles on the 14.. There is no way in hell I'd pay over 30k for a 2014..

Unless you really like the 14 over the 15's ? for just a few grand more, get the car that you really want and know your going to be happy with
