Barton short throw shifter spring

About a month ago i installed a Barton flat stick short throw shifter in my 2017 GT. Reverse is push down and over/up. I used the stiff spring set up to start with as the mfg. said give it time as the spring tension will change. Well I've gotten used to the stiffer springs and would not want to go to a softer feel. I changed the trans fluid to RP syn. and it feels like a different car. Second to third only requires a positive push, no more guiding the stick to third. This info is for people wondering how the shifter works with the stiff spring set up. I also mounted directly to the trans for a more solid feel.

Just a follow up on the Barton shifter. Since instillation a couple years ago I've racked up about 1000 miles on my 2017 GT, I know that's not much. The shifts are solid and direct, no fishing for gears. Makes driving fun, I would buy this shifter again.

Hey Motor12,

While I do not have a 2017, my 2007 has never been more enjoyable to drive since I added the Barton Flat stick. The direct mount to trans is also the only way to go. I did the Blow-Fish Racing mount the same time I installed the Barton.

Cheers and thanks for sharing!
