I ordered my car on 12/23/14 without even seen a convertible live....

On Base here in Ramstein/Germany they just had the eb to look at.

V6 (like my 2005 coupe) conv with 051A (it´s sad that there are no more options) in magnetic metallic.

Maybe I will be the only V6 driver over here.

And today I already can see my window sticker!!

When people pickup their convertibles do they have a the wheel locking kit installed? It is supposed to be part of the enhanced security package which I believe is included on all 2015 convertibles. Of course my dealer has no idea about the kit, they also did not know what the tonneau caps were and then were going to charge me for them.

 

I received my cv last week and am lovin it. By the way, anyone get the tonneau caps included? I had to call Ford corporate, as the dealer stated that they weren't suppose to be included, and corporate informed me that they're on backorder and that they'll be sent to the owners when they become available, but that date is unknown.

 

Mine came with the wheel locking. The "key" was in the center console.

Hopefully they will be shipped soon. Lisbeth looks funny without the covers.
I didn´t opened the roof that often yet. It´s still pretty chilly here. But it´s supposed to get warm this weekend.

From my dealer:
"Ford is currently working with the supplier to understand a revised timeline for the parts availability (Tonneau cover). They expect to begin shipping vehicles for the spring (april 6th) with the covers. ...Covers will be shipped directly to all customers who have already purchased a convertible, starting with the earlier retail units until all are shipped. We will update you again....Any special request can be directed to Melanie Barker...From Wes Ostic @ Ford"

Sure! I am a bit peeved, because it it spring time and I want that top don without all the junk in the air getting inside the top, but I love the car. awesome. Got the 50 year anniversary accessories package - mainly for the wheels!

I know I must sound stupid but what are tonneau caps? I have convertible coming next week.

 

They are molded plastic that covers the convertible mechanism when the top is down. They really improve the look over the old boot and also protect from debris.

Does anyone have Ford contact info for this above dealer level? If so can you please share with me?

I'm curious and a bit concerned because I received my '15 GT convertible today. But no tonneau covers. Has anyone received theirs?

If so, with the car or separately? If not, what is dealer telling you!

I posted a comment on one o the site's....I guy named Wes Ostic and Melanie ??? at Ford in special projects? Supposedly they started shipping with verts delivered after April 6, but it looks like that info was BS. Pretty sure no one in America has them and Ford isn't talking. Which is complete BS. Spent $44k and they can't tell me when the rest of my car will be delivered? Really sad that the press hasn't picked up on this to put pressure on Ford to at least tell us when we will get them....

 

That is unbelievable. Honestly, I seriously didn't even realize this was an issue. I didn't look for them at the dealership in the trunk any more than I'd check to make sure there was an alternator under the hood or a dipstick in the oil pan.

If they had said, "look, there is a problem with production or delivery of the caps" then I'd understand. But the fact the dealer didn't say a word, at any level, is astonishing.

Our other cars for the last two decades are Honda and Acura so maybe I got spoiled. But this isn't a cheapo Fiesta or Escort. It's a $45K car delivered knowingly incomplete and without saying anything.

I'll be interested to see what response I get. I can't believe among all the car sites all over the Internet no media has discussed this. Somehow the media ones all have the covers.

I'll keep folks posted.

 

The parts should start shipping within the next week or so, golfertp. They are shipping to the first buyers and going down the list. These will be shipped directly to you, guys. I hope this helps and the press isn't needed.

There have been so many "they will be shipping soon" stories that your credibility is lost with these general statements. The last time I was able to get some info back was they were going to start shipping on April 6. Now it is April 20th and they should start shipping in the next week or so. Topping it off is the silence by Ford and their dealers. Completely disingenuous and shameful. Ford has contact info on every buyer and yet there are no emails, no letters, no apologies, no here is what we are going to do for you due to this situation. Nothing. A perfect case of how not to provide customer service & engender loyalty - they are doing everything wrong.
