Even with the current GT500, the limiting factor seems to be its (in)ability to fully utilize its available power. I think the must fruitful gains in performance will be to greatly enhance that ability to fully utilize even current HP levels, thus, I think the S550's greatly enhanced chassis is a well considered approach.
Agreed. Usable power and improved handling appear to be the direction they are heading. They may be willing to lose the HP war with Camaro if their car goes around a track better and wins magazine comparisons.

The boss was only available in 2012 and 2013.

That's correct. Here is the last one made in a one of a kind color signed by all the workers.

There was also a Sterling Grey/Black Laguna Seca that was raffled off at the Woodward Dream Cruise in 2012.

I would really like to see a big ole 429 In a new mustang myself but I know it will never happen. Seems like they are cutting weight on the new stangs and a big ole 429 isn't gonna help when it comes to that.

A 429 doesn't have to be heavy or big, just look at the displacements they are getting out of the good-0l tried and true 9.5" deck Windsor motor or the LS7 as another example which is around the same weight as the coyote.

Ford just hasn't got anything in its inventory that can be stretched out like that. The coyote motor suffers from the same problem all MOD motors suffer from and that's narrow bore spacing which makes meaningful increases in displacement hard to come by.
