Like the F150, Taurus and Flex, the 2013 Mustang update was the result of Ford's commitment to freshening and/or releasing all-new models every three-or-so years, in my opinion.

This. If the current car is any indication, we'll see the new car for 2015, and a mid cycle refresh for 2018. After that, another, more substantial refresh for 2020 (identical to the 09-10 changes).

Point of note for the bargain hunters: With the 6 now out of Flat Rock it looks like Ford is filling the capacity gap with Mustangs. They appear to be building 2000-2500 2013s per week at the moment. I expect very good rebates will become available in a couple of months.

If so, perhaps they're just stocking up on 2013's, and perhaps 2014's (which I presume will be little changed but for some trim/color details) in anticipation of switching over to 2015 production, which I surmise will be rather early/mid 2014 calendar year.

No indication they'll move the Mustang elsewhere at this point. It seems like they're one of the few plants with room to grow, so other models may end up there as well.

Fusion's going to Flat Rock, and Mustang platform are spin-offs would likely go there as well.

Actually, the more I look at that Jalopink rendering the more it's starting to bore me. I'm trying to figure out why I'd buy that car? It looks like a much more conservative version of the current style.

But the more I look at the Car and Driver rendering, the more it's growing on me and I really like it. I'm hoping Ford does something a bit more dramatic than what that Jalopink rendering is suggesting.

Also it seems like the Car and Driver rendering seems to have very positive feedback on all the other forums I'm reading that show that rendering. I have a feeling that amongst current Mustang owners though, they'd initially balk at it. But I bet most would still buy it too if it looked like that.

I like the more modern look - I like my 2011, but evolution has always been part of the Mustang.

Throw in a TT V8, and it's getting nuts. The reports are that it takes 150-180 HP to turn the supercharger on the 5.8. Put that back into play, and we're looking at 800 horses???

I think the power is fine at this point. The base V8 makes 420HP, the GT500. Over 600! All we need is some MPG improvement and better handling.

If there is space - the V8 is a 90 degree engine, wider than the 60 degree V6 and in-line 4 obviously.

While the S/C does sap alot of HP its alot easier to package (with the exception of vertical height) and you dont have to worry about the heat issues associated with two turbos hanging off the exhaust manifolds.

As others have mentioned I doubt you'd see Ford go nuclear with the power, rather a TT V8 engine would rely on low boost levels in an effort to increase effciency

I read the tailight siscription and it immediatly made me think of the 2nd gen SN95 I have. The tailights are louvered for lack of a better word but each segment is it's own louver.

Looks like Shelby "borrowed heavily" from some of Doug's renderings of a improved rear end for the 2010+ Mustang way back when for the current GT350 and Ford finally caught on for the 2013 MY Mustang. Just sayin'... As long as the next-gen Mustang's tail lights aren't louvered like the '87-'93 GT "cheese graters", I'm OK with that. Unless they find a way to make it worse.
