I think the modern front end could be the deal breaker for many people. I like it but I prefer the 10-12 front end. I'm wondering if this is a bit of a risk for the car. If it isn't popular maybe we will see a quick refresh like we did with the 2010-12 rear being so short lived. I feel that the 2013 refresh was more about the displeasure of the 2010-12 rear than anything else. Before 2010-12 owners cuss me out I'm just pointing out that that was the most controversial change to the car at the time. I don't mind it myself, though I prefer the rear of the 2013, but the front of the 2012.
I think they should try to use round headlights, that was such a cool change in 2005. I think the Aston Martin grille can work but put the pony in the corral like the 1999-04 car and once again add the round headlights.

Soooooo, the moment the S550 images hit the internet, I'll be sure to get a " 2018 S550 refresh Photoshop" thread up and running

Eh, call it what you want. I like the current car enough, the handling is more than capable for my use, and I don't mind the interior, especially with the nav. I just don't want to take a chance on a gussied up Fusion coupe, if that's what it ends up looking like.
Or, I've just seen/heard enough things I don't care for and am going with something I'll enjoy. I'll let you figure that one out

Point of note for the bargain hunters: With the 6 now out of Flat Rock it looks like Ford is filling the capacity gap with Mustangs. They appear to be building 2000-2500 2013s per week at the moment. I expect very good rebates will become available in a couple of months.

Actually, the more I look at that Jalopink rendering the more it's starting to bore me. I'm trying to figure out why I'd buy that car? It looks like a much more conservative version of the current style.
But the more I look at the Car and Driver rendering, the more it's growing on me and I really like it. I'm hoping Ford does something a bit more dramatic than what that Jalopink rendering is suggesting.
Also it seems like the Car and Driver rendering seems to have very positive feedback on all the other forums I'm reading that show that rendering. I have a feeling that amongst current Mustang owners though, they'd initially balk at it. But I bet most would still buy it too if it looked like that.

I like the more modern look - I like my 2011, but evolution has always been part of the Mustang.
Throw in a TT V8, and it's getting nuts. The reports are that it takes 150-180 HP to turn the supercharger on the 5.8. Put that back into play, and we're looking at 800 horses???

While the S/C does sap alot of HP its alot easier to package (with the exception of vertical height) and you dont have to worry about the heat issues associated with two turbos hanging off the exhaust manifolds.
As others have mentioned I doubt you'd see Ford go nuclear with the power, rather a TT V8 engine would rely on low boost levels in an effort to increase effciency

I read the tailight siscription and it immediatly made me think of the 2nd gen SN95 I have. The tailights are louvered for lack of a better word but each segment is it's own louver.

Looks like Shelby "borrowed heavily" from some of Doug's renderings of a improved rear end for the 2010+ Mustang way back when for the current GT350 and Ford finally caught on for the 2013 MY Mustang. Just sayin'... As long as the next-gen Mustang's tail lights aren't louvered like the '87-'93 GT "cheese graters", I'm OK with that. Unless they find a way to make it worse.
