2015 Spy Shots
it makes me mad seeing them keep switching the tach to the left, they did that on the 05 mustang and corrected it on the 07 shelby and they fixed it again on all the 2010 and newer and now they go and screw it up again.
I wish I didn't see those...the IRS was a give-in and well I don't think we can rely on the interior shots for much of anything. Even knowing this, I still worry about the look of it.
IMO I think the steering wheel seems chunky even in TN's rendition (though it did look better) and while the center stack is most likely to change drastically, I don't like it and it worries me...then again I could just buy a clearanced out 2014 if I don't like it so why does it matter? I don't know! Losing my mind!

I concur. No way would Ford let slip the real interior this early.
I'm sure the Ford/Team Mustang guys reading these forums get a chuckle out of seeing us get so hot under the collar though

Truly 'One Ford' - 2015 Mustang will share a huge majority of parts with the Euro Mondeo.
Based on my experience with the new Focus I'd love to have more of that euro tactile feel.
Makes sense they would just mount the systems in to test integration with the currernt car. If we're really getting another S197 derivative the seating/driving positions would pretty much remain the same.

Would that really be classed as platform sharing or component sharing, though? Fusion is FWD with transverse engines, Mustang will be (I assume!) RWD with longditudinal engines. No problem with it sharing suspension/brake components though.
Don't be giving us nightmares about another Probe scenario though

I can certainly see where the Probe comparisons are valid, but I don't think that's going to be the case.
What interests me is how the IRS appears to be well integrated into the S197 chassis without much visible modification. Makes you wonder what the potential is for retrofitting back to this car if parts were available.

While there will undoubtedly be a lot of component sharing, primarily electronics, instruments guts, *****, buttons and the like across the Ford lineup, Mustang included, it will definitely be a RWD platform, though that then will likely be shared with other FoMoCo models (RWD Lincold sedan/coupe? Aussie models?). I imagine the instruments and panel will have distinctive Mustang styling, even if they do share the basic underlying hardware and software that would be common across the FoMoCo lineup.
Ford is way behind in rwd platforms. With the end of the panther platform (crown vic) the mustang is the only rwd car in the Ford lineup. I'd love to see a full size coupe like the 90s Thunderbird and something to compete with the charger, 300 and the upcoming SS that is supposed to be based on the Pontiac g8

Now I'm just going to put this out there. Why not make the systems fairly similar if possible for Ford to save money and ... Wait for it... make a less expensive and even better performance oriented Mustang than the non sharing S197? I know, I just blew your minds.
Looks like they took the cluster, steering wheel and center stack right out of the new fusion. Looks like the speedo and guages are straight from the EcoBoost Fusion. I doubt this is what the interior will look like. Prob just using it since it is already calibrated for the 2.0 EB so they can test the engine in the mustang.
