Yes, yes and YES again. Fabulous car and I loved that April Fool's story.....although I'm sure the AMC boys didn't

That looks very Camaro-esq, but it would take too much to turn that into a fabulous '69-inspired Mustang.
Steve Stanford does some fantastic renderings
Well, many spurned the 2010 for looking too Euro, so I say mess with the retro theme at their peril. Personally, I love the fact the S197 looks like no other car on the road, so I want that to continue. One of the appeals of the S197 was that it looked like a classic without any of the associated running issues. I believe there's plenty of life left in retro design yet

Lets do a little marketing research. I'll start it off with a few items that I like and the rest of you add to it. I know not everyone will agree but majority rules. Then we start design.
18' wheels
5 spoke rims
no windshield washers on the hood
05 style tail lights
no fake rear gas cap
side scoops (functional)
window louvers
end the side style line at the side scoop
change hood back toward 05 design
don't go for aerodyamics in the front of the car.
functional rocker panels (ground effects)
extend front of car 3 inches
chin spoiler
functional rear spoiler
price $35,000

The stupid radio antenna.... I mean seriously Ford can't put the antenna in the rear glass of the car like a lot of other manufacturers do (including their previously owned car make volvo does this for their radio antennas). The current stang looks awesome but you get to the rear and u see this ugly antenna sticking out. Which IMO ruins the body lines.
Nope, sorry. A 4-cylinder petrol is only slightly more appealing than the rumoured diesel. However, at least there have been decent 4-cylinder Mustangs in the past, so at least it would a nod to a bit of recent history.
However, I'd rather Ford went for a smaller, lighter car (not badged Mustang, but perhaps Capri) if they were to ever put a 4-cylinder in the car. Spin it off the Mustang platform, but don't call it a Mustang.

Photoshop request?
Hi everyone,
I've always liked the Shelby style tail lights. I was wondering if someone would help me with a photo-shop request. Can someone please extend the tail lights by two bars on each side so that the lights like this?

Interesting picture. If either of the Mustangs shown are any indication of things to come, it looks like the separate quarter window might be leaving us, in favor of a more hardtop look. The purple(?) Mustang looks like a modern rendition of a '69 Sportsroof. Doesn't look bad but I'm not crazy about the cowl hood though...

at least the weight and approximate exterior size of the Mustang from that time anyway...
