I was brain storming myself the other night about what direction the Mustang could go, using current ford design traits. And Take into account mustang design cues etc.

I say it is none functional. Sitting in a low pressure zone like that makes it none functional as a scoop.

Put some nice heat extractor and pressure relief vents on both sides of the hood would make a usable detail.

I am totally with you, as I don't care much for the new front end either.. IMO the grille and nose appear to look more like a mutation between that of a Charger, Ram 1500 and the mouth of a Catfish

Here's an idea... I have read on these forums from sources that claim to be close to Ford that the next gen Mustang was to be not just more futuristic, but with comparisons to the foxbody Mustang. has anyone ever made the analogy that a modern version of the foxbody can be seen in the current gen CTS-V??

Same here. Looks classy and I could grow to really like it. However, minimally, I'd like to see the quarter windows tweaked a little and a fastback roofline. I would also like the "EVOS" inspired front fascia to look a little less like that of a Lancer Evo (the headlights anyways)...

I hope the O.P. don't mind, I took their idea and made it a little sleeker. The headlights are from my T'bird render, as are the hidden fogs, the grille is Evos... the rest of the image is modified from the Aston.

The DB9 thing looks pretty good. Reminds me of an R8 in the back half. Not very Stangish. Wold make killer lincoln though. Mark IX lol.

I am working on a 3D model for fun. Maybe if everyone puts some input we can come up with something.
