This was originally posted in the Color Thread but I think it was more appropriate here...

Another though is what if they were to make a hatch in order to raise its popularity and practicality especially to the euro crowd. It would appeal to the younger generation as well since havin room to toss our junk into is actually a big plus. (Im with the young crowd) although havin a normal trunk is perfectly fine with me and fits more with Mustang design
When I see an Accord Coupe the cars I think of are BMW 3/4 Coupes, and Mercedes C-350 Coupes, because they share a lot of similar design traits. But looking at Chaz's rendering I dont get that at all. The Accord, BMW3/4 and C-350 all have taller Greenhouses with Much Larger, More Elongated Quarter Windows.

When I see Chaz's render or think about the Greenhouse of the 2015/S550 Mustang I think more Aston Martin DB-9 than any of those 3 above.

As for the Hatch, I seriously wish the 2015 was a Hatch. I've said it before, it would make it more Versatile and Useful and would improve it's credibility around the world, where Hatches are More Desirable. Sadly I think it will not be a Hatch.

Did you also notice how the top 3 cars, have a sunken belt line by the windows in comparison to the hood? Meanwhile the Mustang and Aston are similar?

I think if the render had a sunken belt line it would look better, that way the hips would look like they are higher up and more pronounced.

"Hips" Don't have to be Verticle to be More Pronounced. The 2015's Hips are going to be Much More Pronounced than the 10-14's, it's just that They're going to be More Sculpted In and Horizontally Pronounced. More Sophisticated and Muscular, than Boy Racer. I think Ford is trying to Avoid the Cartoonish Look of the Camaro.

Ya know, I like that rendering. I actually think that is the "more radical" look I was thinking they were supposed to be doing.

Well imo when i think of boy racer i think of horizontally pronounced hips, kinda like the R32 GTR. But anyways, that side shot does shows the hips better

I don't think I'd call the early Mustang's beltline with vertical hips "Boy Racer." IMO what all of the cars you posted share in common is a boring beltline. Looks too sedanish and bland. You shouldn't need a certain, limited viewing angle to see it has hips. I've warmed up to the front end, but the lame, straight, beltline is just too plain. The side profile reminds me of how I felt about the last GTO. Great performance, but man, that's a bland, boring looking profile.

Yup... the hips need to be seen from all angles

I do see the similarity but the mustangs hood will be much linger and look sleeker while the Subaru will look a lil boxier. That front on the 15 wrx is pretty **** nice though

Judge for yourself

For what it's worth, I can only see images inline when I am NOT logged in. What's up with that?

I wasn't saying the original Mustang's Hips were Boy Racer, I was talking more about the Hips on the Current Camaro, but those Verticle Hips of the original 65-68 Mustang's would look out of place and dated on a modern car. Not to mention that those vertical hips would only add to the limited visibility out of the quarter windows if they were incorporated on the 2015, just like the Hips of the Camaro add to it's horrible Blind Spots.

As for all of the Cars I posted looking Boring and Sedanish, Maybe that's because the Top 3 are all Coupe Variants of Sedans, but I'm Sorry, there is Nothing Boring or Sedanish about This Car...

And There Won't be Anything Boring or Sedanish about This Either...

That car's body line still has a slight sweep up at the hips. Maybe I'm missing it in the renders, but it doesn't look like the Mustang has that sweep up. It looks a little more level. I do love the hip flare on the renders, but also think coupling it with a slight sweep up looks best. Slowly I'm getting over the lack of a curvy body line or crease, but a version of this body line would look sweet on the 15:

The grill opening on the Mustang, especially when compared with the WRX, looks way too big. I picked up the latest issue of Car & Driver and have fallen in love with their render and sincerely hope the real thing matches that look.
