I totally agree that it's definitely time for one of the two to come back, as it's been way overdue, however I didn't care for the fastback models after 1970, as the 71-73 models were too flat and became too large..
IMHO the 67-68 fastback along with the 69-70 models were the best looking Mustangs of all time.. Just my $.02

And Ford isn't about to bring back 3 different body styles as in a notch back coupe, fastback and convertible, as it's just too costly to build 3 different platforms in today's economy !

But don't forget Patrick, the Vette is only available in 2 body styles, fastback/hatch and convertible as there isn't a notch back/coupe model.

Patrick has a point and I agree. Even if not feasible, it's possible. My favorite C5 was the Notch in Z06 flavor.
Not sure if this new mustang will or won't have one but I would love to see it if it did.

As I stated before to build 3 different body styles is just too costly thanks to the bean counting cost cutters that run Ford, GM and Chrysler !

Look at the bright side, at least Ford continues to offer the Mustang in both coupe and convertible models..
However on the other hand, Dodge's current Challenger is available in coupe form only !

Not sure about the front fascia, but from the front wheels back, I could get on board with this. I really like the shape of the hips and the taper of the roofline in the back.
Hello Patrick. Thanks for the Welcome Sir.
I pop in from time to time, but havent posted much since I did those couple of pics based on the Dark Blue Auto Car Evos render. Mustang05, I had noticed TopNotch's avatar, but didnt see as much of the shape as in this rendering. Wolfsburg, I think this is probably the most accurate overall rendering anyone has done yet, especially based on the camo'd mules. As far as the front facia, there will be plenty of aftermarket offerings I'm sure and it'll probably be an easy swap. If the '15 turns out any where near this I'm gonna have to figure out how to get me one.

If your referring to Topnotch's rendering ? How can you possibly think it looks anything like a Chevy Vega, as there is no resemblance between the two whatsoever.
For starters the Vega's greenhouse was a hatchback that didn't include a fastback profile nor had hips in it's quarter panels and second, it's quarter windows were shaped entirely different and finally, the Vega's A pillars are also taller as well..
IMHO Topnotch's rendering is the best one I've seen yet, as you clearly notice the Evo's influence and also quite a bit of Aston-Martin, but most of all when you look at the overall design and shape, it most definitely looks all Mustang !

Funny that in TN's icon the "Mustang" has that horizontal bar in it like one of the first people to speak out about the car said it did.
I might have missed that in earlier posts but I just saw it. Anyone know the story behind this pic?
