My 2013 GT500 vert gets 24 mpg on the highway.

I'm shocked at the amount of negativity that has been spread about the 2015 this last year. The car will be, by far, the best Mustang ever in every single category you can come up with.
Better come with a box of free doughnuts to beat my 2013 GT500.

I disagree. The "retro" was a well deserved reset button, now we need the modern interpretation of that reset. In OK with the so called fusion derived Mustang as the current Fusion looks Mustang derived. A handsome family works for me.

I'd prefer this. Notchback, fastback and drop top.

Sure it does. Just aerodynamic modern mustang. Needs long hood, short deck, wide grill, side character lines (although they can be softened) at least a fastback option, 2+2 seating, 3 piece tail lights, a range of models and options and a horse somewhere.

Astons were shark nosed with an overbite and they evolved to a more aerodynamic front end. The lift I see and feel in my Boss on the track is from another era and has to go.

I honestly can't that much. It doesn't bother me a whole lot bc I know ford will make a great looking mustang. But I just wondered what you all think.

Nice drawing by the way op!
No hood scoops. What's next, traction bars.

If Ford wants to take back being # 1 on the pony wars, then retro has to be no more.
As much as Mustang II gets a lot of grief, it's the next gen that ruined Mustang for me. Good car for the time but lost the plot and heritage design wise. I understand they wanted to distance themselves from the II, but imagine if the original 65 to 70 models had evolved like a 911.

I'm with him.

You can hate on retro all you want but if you're just going to make a car - that has no Mustang DNA, hell... why not just kill the Mustang and call it a Probe or something.
I hate retro. Prefer "reset". Brought me back to an American car. Now I want a modern evolution.

that doesn't mean it can't keep within its heritage or what others call its 'retroness'

The only reason why people called it retro..is becaue we were 'treated' to all the departures from the lineage.

I like the drawing and for some reason I get a funny feeling when I look at this drawing as if this is really what the 2015 mustang will look like. This will be a very desirable car.

Coming from a GTI, and hating my experience with my GTI, I still have to say they have done it right all these years styling wise.

A car should keep the same basic silhouette. Neither the Mustang or Camaro have done that, IMO.

I read earlier in this thread that when people think of a Mustang, they think of a first gen. Simply because that's what a Mustang looks like to most people.

The icon has been built around a horse, not a fish, so why does the '15+ look like a fish from the front?

i think a hatchback would be fine..I'd be willing to be alot of people out there dont know that the V-8 and V-12 vantage are hatchbacks. They don't look like it but they are. A hatch on the new stang if done right could loo like a traditional trunk but have the opening of a hatch.

I think if Ford aped some of the Aston styling they could do alot worse..like aping the Ram truck like they did this last model year

Thread title should read "Ford doesn't want to be associated with my cheap AM ripoff drawing"

Just sayin'...
