I don't know what to say, but I just read this article:
https://themustangsource.com/a-2015-...ng-sedan-6171/
I personally hope this never happens (and it looks like it won't), but what do you think?

Before you know it, we'll also be hearing rumors of a 4 door Camaro being in the works next.. Heck, might as well throw in the Challenger or future Cuda while we're at it too

It's not ever going to happen ! The Mustang has always been and will always remain the original 2+2 Pony Car..

While just a render I wouldn't mind seeing the platform shared a bit to help defray costs and keep the plant busy.
Mustang riding on a unique platform puts it in a precarious position. The only real advantage to be gained from a bespoke platform is weight savings but that goes out the window when your top car might have 650+ HP at some point down the road.

They did have a 4DR Camaro it was called a G8 ( well that's the egg before the chicken but anything zeta based with four doors is a Camaro sibling ) and the 4DR version of the Challenger is called the Charger.

As for the current Challenger is concerned ? yes ! it's most definitely based off the current Charger platform only shortened, in which to this day is a huge joke as far as I'm concerned..
IMO, Daimler Benz ruined the Charger when they resurrected that car into a 4 door sedan and should've brought it back as either a 2 door coupe in which it was originally designed for in the first place.. Or just put a different name plate on it altogether..
As for the Mustang being in a precarious position goes ? I really wouldn't be too concerned as I'm sure it's new platform will end up being shared and more than likely we'll see it on a new Lincoln RWD/AWD sedan along with hopefully a 2 door coupe to go with it.. As Lincoln really needs to step up to the plate and offer a 2 door sports coupe in order to compete with Cadillac and it's European competitors head to head..

That would be cool, I'd like to see the chassis proliferate in some fashion (to bad SUV/CUVs are so popular, a RWD wagon would be awesome).

If they made one I'd buy it in a second.. of course they'd have to call it something else, Torino maybe? (which already came in a 4dr)

Dodge has a 2 & 4dr, Chevy does now, Mercedes, BMW, Honda....
Ford always had in the past.
I needed a 4dr last year and had to go buy a Charger cause I'm not driving some FWD 4 cyl piece of crap & not about to spend $45k on a Chevy SS as a daily driver

Exactly love the R/T but I'd trade it for a Ford any day.. come on Ford build one and take my $
I know that 5-6 years from now I'm gonna have to get rid of the mustang and get something with 4 doors. I would prefer it to be a ford, RWD and have a V8.
But I doubt it'll be around.
You're play ford!

I have driven a sho, it was a couple of years ago, I think it was a 2012. Fundamentally the same car, though I understand there has been some upgrading. Personally, and I recognize this is only my opinion, the SS was a far more satisfying car. It has also received positive reviews in magazines recently. Felt strong, V8 sang a nice song, interior was above and beyond. Impressed the hell out of me. The wife tells me I can't be happy with 4 doors. Maybe she's right.
That said, I've NEVER owned a GM product but right now they have this SS, the CTS Vsport & Corvette. All are excellent performance bargins. The CTS-V will be out soon and I am wondering that beast will bring.
I am not listing the Camaro, because I have driven it and it did me the tremendous favor of convincing me I needed a 2011 Mustang. Thanks Camaro.
