IMHO I don't see how anyone would have thought from Day One this outgoing version wasn't a Mustang?!?

 

I suspect that he was referring to general rejection of the S197 by the SN95 owners...not specifically the "this isn't a Mustang" idea.

This always, always, always happens. Note the current trend of C6 owners not liking the C7...if a car has loyal fans, they will reject (or be jealous) of changes and updates.

I have tried to keep an open mind about the S550...I think the design has a lot going for it. Certain angles look absolutely stunning, the technological updates appear to be fantastic all around, I dig the interior, it SHOULD drive like a dream AND you can get one in Competition Orange (!!)...but I love my 2011 and I'm pretty **** attached. I can't help but notice things about my car that I like a lot better than the new one.

 

It is interesting how we all have different perspectives on this car. I saw it today at the Rochester Auto Show, and man did I love it. I thought it was a fantastic looking car. I heard an older couple comment on it too when they walked by. The commented on how the Camaro was "nice", but the new Mustang just looked like such a more fun car to drive. So overall, I'm thrilled with the car. The interior looked phenomenal. But then again I love modern looking cars too. I saw the Corvette C7 as well and my mouth was just watering looking at it.
