8speed in my moms Q5 is awesome. Never really notice it shifting or hunting for gears.

I'd gladly welcome an 8-10 speed.

what i am noticing so far is a reversal of design.


the new chevy is lighter and has a big v8. the new mustang is heavy and has a small v8.

we are back to 1998. great.

So weight is not confirmed and even with a gain of 200lbs, it would STILL be lighter than the Camaro. It will also make more power and almost the same tq out if that "small v8" all while getting better mpg's.

And if you're referring to the c7....that's always been a light, big block car. It's in a different class AND double the price.

...better mpg, more power...sounds like the future to me.

I think he was referring to the rumors that the next gen Camaro will be lighter. And I would bet it'll use the LT1 which will equal the mustang in power.

Lighter than 3800+ lbs could still be pretty heavy.

I really think 6-8 speeds is enough. Anything more than that is just d*ck waving and one-upmanship. Plus, look at what's going on with the 9-speed in the new Cherokee: a lot of reviews are saying that its proving the law of diminishing returns.
