2015 Mustang mule testing IRS spotted
Finally: 21st Century, meet Mustang. Mustang, meet 21st Century.
Now for you eagle-eyed folks, with that beneath shot of the rear axle/suspension area, does the rest of the frame/body look pretty much like (a development of) the current S197?
Or a basically new platform?

PS Note though, it does seem different from the stillborn IRS originally intended for the S197. Compare to the pics on http://www.drivingenthusiast.net/sec-blog/?p=11329

Looks like the current platform. Rear sub-frame on the right above the muffler, next to it is the spare wheel well and that black box attached to the well is the evap system.
I did notice something that looks like chambered mid pipe and the bolt that has a yellow marking is to adjust Camber.
Can't really see much or tell after that.

They may be testing ONLY the suspension components on the current platform even though they may eventually reside on a completely new platform or on a far more modified, or only lightly modded, version of the of the current.
Still early in the game and these spy pics are at best, only hints as to what might be the actual 2015. Probably pretty clear that IRS will be the rear suspension or at least an upgrade, though I'd guess the former. Of course, IRS was online for the 2005 until some ill-conceived last minute penny pinching by the suits in the executive office, so who knows. I doubt this debacle will happen a second time given the ongoing grief and derision Ford's gotten for foisting grand-daddy's suspension on a 21st century performance car and Ford's global product line aspirations.

Bout Damm Time....
Anyways, interesting
Just an opinionated enthusiast with some really good points. Sounds like many car guys. Buyers will move away from the Mustang if what needs to happen doesn't. I can stand by the solid axle like the rest of them but aren't against advancement.
^^^^
I sure hope not unless Ford is not serious of going global. I mean c'mon is time to let it go. Maybe Ford will do something for you dragster.

The dude that wrote the article sounds like a major douche. Kind of a condescending ******* ***** kind of guy. Makes it hard to care what he thinks. I don't care how many Mustangs he's owned. Kind of like jmatero decided to write a history of why the SRA ruined the world.
