There is something to be said about a name.. it should look that way. Look Ford has allot of history destroying the look of a car. Remember the Old Taurus? LOL Well the best selling car for a long time. They redesigned it to make it more modern. Went from first to last.. Hope the new FUSTANG does not end up that way. Just sayin
Camaro more retro? Are you sure you are not talking about the the Challenger? If anything GM made the Camaro a little bit more modern with the new headlights. I find it interesting that the Challenger comes in last in sales and it is the most retro while the Camaro has been top in sales and is that least retro of them all (until the 2015 Mustang that is).

As has has been discussed with you, Ford loyalists will hold their nose about some aspects and still buy. So your metrics don't prove anything in regards to Ford designers have a front end defect from Ford to Lincoln. You can bow at the altar of Ford all day long, but the outpouring of Fustang is across numerous forums as well as TMS.

Yes I love Ford and own them. That doesn't mean I have to duct tape my mouth at the areas where they COULD do better.
So the only people that will be purchasing are "Ford Loyalists?" Great! And please keep your snide remarks to yourself. My remarks weren't made bowing at any alter relating to FMC/Mustang.

Didn't say that. But it is true that Ford loyalists put up with a lot that could be done better by the company.

Keep in mind... those profits you like to use as proof of positive designs did not come from increased market share this last quarter. Market share shrunk. The Q report actually states those big profits came on the backs of workers.

And increased profit margin per vehicle (on select models) . . .

Right. On the backs of workers and customers - not from converting Chevy or Dodge owners, etc.

Because if I wanted an old Mustang, I'd simply buy an old Mustang.

Im talking about the new 2016. Looks like the 70. They said in the articles that they needed to make it look more retro.
On the Doge how many did they sell in the 60's and 70's. Well the percentage of them selling now is about the same. It is a big car. really it is the only muscle car left. Big girl with a big engine.

Cant wait till 2017 there will be one sitting next to my 2014 GT.

Alot of the time it is the amount of money the car cost.

One of the stats I find amazing is that the newer generations are not brand loyal to anything. My company works with allot of cars manufactures. They are having a hard time selling to the new gerners...

Which is why I prefer a new Mustang to be a fully modern Mustang, regardless of how much I appreciate older Stangs. Heritage is great, but one should never be held back or dragged down by it, going into the future.

PS Car & Driver now stocks a lot of vintage road tests which might well disabuse many of their amber-hued recollections of older cars and Mustangs.
