I'm glad Ford is shooting for light and nimble. I just hope that it is still at least *available* in a trim level that is inexpensive and simple/raw. I'm happy for all the people that love their squishy leather seats, mood lighting, power everything, voice-activated systems, etc, but I like the simplicity of the Boss interior or, even simpler, my stripped-down Fox interior.

No Jack, AWD should not be an option and shrinking the Mustang to much will force some styling compromises due to trying to package 4 people in the car.
Jack Telnack was the guy responsible for the Fox cars and the MN12 thunderbirds the latter taking its design cues from the 6 series (E24) BMW.

I'm glad its getting smaller and nimbler, but i hope it doesn't lose its agressive looks while that happens. Hoping they keep the coupe look and don't move to a Probe style hatchback in order to keep the two back seats. I'm not sure if a fastback styling would work but im sure if done properly it could turn out to be quite good looking.

I know it's only a Photoshop of the current car, but I really like that!
I guess that's actually more along the lines of what I originally thought the 2013 refresh would give us, but there's too many sheet metal changes there for that. But its obviously still instantly recognisable as new Mustang.
Don't change the magic formular too much, Ford

TMS members I come up with better photoshops than that. I doubt MT has a clue on what the next gen will look like.

With some tweaks, I don't think it's bad at all. The rear still needs work and I wish the front was more rakish looking though (think '69 inspired). I would rather have a more fastback-like profile and do away with the horizontal decklid. Maybe it was only a rumor, but wasn't there some talk a while back that the quarter windows would be less Shelby-inspired and more like those of the '69-'70 cars?

To me it looks like more of a 2013 refresh than the next generation 'Stang. I want more drastic changes and yet still be able to say it definately is still a Mustang.

I don't know how I missed it, but this has already been posted. Sorry, mods.

I do agree, though, that Motor Trend's uninspired rendering is rather pathetic.

Now that's a rear people will really complain about
