I'm surprised Ford doesn't offer a dark green on their regular models. It's a beautiful color on that car. I can't imagine they'd have a hard time selling forest green Mustangs.
We know the GT500 is going to be a part of the next generation Mustang now, so the question I would guess is what will replace the Boss. I wonder whether it would be cost-efficient for them to create a one-time SE for the '14 MY. Besides, and this is no offense to anyone who was thinking this way, I'm not sure how it would be received if they created some new graphics/interior touches that said "Mach 1" instead of "Boss 302" while using 90% of the Boss' parts. Ford is free to do whatever they want to, of course, but it would feel a bit...shallow, maybe? Personally, if they create another Mach 1, I'd like to see it done with the next generation from the ground up. I know Ford is going to have a hard time selling the '14 Mustangs with all of the attention on '15 MY cars, so they may very well come out with a one-off for '14 that helps to promote sales. Who knows. But that's just me. |
My Mach1 doesn't come in an auto lol

My biggest fear of aluminum body panels is the insurance costs along with repairs on top of msrp price when it is released

http://www.popularhotrodding.com/fea...g/viewall.html "As the 2015 Mustang will likely have a lifespan that reaches to 2025, it will need to be much lighter, smaller, and have much more efficient engines. Ford is seeking to shave at least 200-300 pounds from the current car’s 3,600-pound curb weight. This will come partially with downsizing, but mostly from use of lighter materials in the body structure and chassis components. Look for more aluminum and use of high-strength steels." |

I will admit Chevy does an outstanding job with the Corvette build. Hydro-formed aluminum frame, aluminum and fiberglass panels, etc etc etc. Of course the Ford GT architecture was amazing as well. It would be nice to see Ford incorporate higher grade materials into the next-gen mustang but of course cost will always be a factor. But if meeting VERY strict European and soon to be tight US emissions laws means upping the cost while decreasing weight then they have to do whatever is necessary. With that being said.... The price has to be reasonable or else the company may lose a huge chunk of buyers and fans

It probably wouldn't be the only thing I'd buy from them either. ;)
