2013/2014 BOSS 429 RUMOR
Doubtful. Ford Racing doesn't put their name on any roadgoing cars now. The Boss was done by Team Mustang, and the Shelby is still an SVT program. The 302S, 302R, and Cobra Jet are Ford Racing, but not sold with VINs on them. SVT will remain as the hi-po variant of the Mustang.

Still, it's nice to have mucho options on one car - it also makes the forums interesting...

If you went to the Ford bean counters and asked them if they wanted $$$ or history... They'd probably opt for the simoleons.
It was just my thoughts when the Boss returned - I expected SVTs / Cobras & others to follow behind to get more cash from the enhanced market and push out the competition.
I'm not saying thats a good thing - that was my presumption. It would be sad day not to have umpteen choices from different vendors - it would be un-American, un-Mustang.
Know what??? I'm going to play the Powerball this weekend for poops & giggles. Should I win, I'll go buy one of each just to proove to myself that I am not biased!

Exactly why the Boss is priced reasonably. It would be scary-priced if a third party were involved, plus all warranty concerns go back to Ford alone. Just think back to the 2007 Shelby GT: Quite pricey because too many hands touched it. Enter the 2008 Mustang Bullitt: every bit as good if not better (although handling was not on par with the Shelby), very few recalls/claims, and a lot cheaper! Nobody can stamp out cars cheaper than the original manufacturers themselves.

Its one reason why when the Shelbys first came out you were paying sometimes 30k over sticker price or when the GT500KRs came out it was not uncommon to see dealers try to sell them for 100K or with the Boss you are paying over sticker sometimes. History sells cars, its part of the nostalgia and legendary part of the Mustang and the Camaro and Challenger and the car world its self. Especially when it comes to the retro body styles that we have the history part has been a big contributor in the Ford has marketed the Mustang over the last 8 years
Ford Racing uses badges on Ford production cars? The only FOrd Racing cars im aware of are the Boss 302S, Boss 302R, Cobra Jet, and the Focus ST-R
No, I was referring to the Shelby badging used at present on the Shelby GT500. I stated that Ford Racing was behind the performance end of their cars being produced now but nothing about badging them as such. They are however, using the "Powered By Ford" stamp more often now. The questions was will they be using the "Ford Racing" logo going into the future? Don't know, but more than likely as they've already been using it on the models you mentioned.

Guys if THERE was a 429 coming out it would probably be outsourced to a niche builder like Roush, Shelby, etc just like the original was built by Kar Kraft. That way Ford doesn't have to worry about CAFE, niche line production, etc
...just dreaming!
