2013/2014 BOSS 429 RUMOR

Don't count on it for '13.

It could be something special for '14. A last hurrah for the body style. Kind of like the terminators and the sn95.
Well seeing as the current 302 is slated for 2 years, I wouldn't see a 2nd motor boss in the same years...
So it would be interesting to see how the last year (2014MY) plays out.
Do they A ) Keep the 302 going for a 3rd year, B ) Keep the V6/GT/GT500 for one last year and let it fade away into the sunset, or with this rumor.... C ) V6/GT/BOSS/GT500 and send this gen out in a blaze of glory!

You won't see a Boss 429. Well, you will in the form of the new 2013 GT500, although not 429 cubic inches. Ford has to slot their product so that it offers appeal at all levels and justifies pricing. I mean how many more Mustangs do we need? The V-6, GT 5.0, Boss 302, and GT500. Where would yet another one be squeezed into the stable? Once Shelby is dropped, Ford may tweak some existing models with new offerings and there's plenty of potential that presently remains untapped in the forementioned models that will take Ford well into the future with the Mustang.

while I agree you can never have to many, I've heard lots of people tell me that there are too many mustangs and options for mustangs available...which never struck me as a bad thing, but some people apparently don't like options?
People often confuse the tuner offerings of Roush, Saleen, etc. with a factory built car. Ford offers a decent amount. I'm all for another SE, as long as it's not just a tape job. They've done a pretty good job of not doing that in recent years.
Ford Racing, Ford Racing, Shelby and Ford Racing ... But still they all KICK ***!!!!

... I would love a Boss 302R a GT350 and a Cobra Jet though
I just wish that you didnt have to get leather seats to have certain options like I have cloth seats and the premium package with a NAV system in it but now I would have to get leather seats and I hate leather seats

It was never stated that Shelby would be dropped anytime soon, but it will be dropped. Then Ford Racing, Team Mustang, SVT, or whatever it will be called will be behind the development of their cars, just as they are now. Shelby is just a name at this point and when that wears out (and the name contract ends) it will be on to the next development cycle. You'll most likely see a change in 2015 (meaning early year 2016).

So does anyone else here think that once Shelby is dropped, SVT will take over the Ford tuning industry? A new cobra would be perfect. Or heck maybe just bring back the mach 1 and have an svt designed motor
You do understand that the current car is designed by SVT, right? SVT is still Ford's performance division, along with ST and RS.

The Shelby badging will eventually stop and Ford will use its own name for performance products. What that will be is anyone's guess but I'm not sure if they'll still use the SVT skunkworks moniker anymore. It will probably be Ford Racing, as it mostly is now.
