And yet ANOTHER bubbling 2011 hood. WTF!
Noticed the other day some bubbling on the hood at the front by the passenger headlight. Looked even further and there is some more along the front underneath. Today at the car wash the paint has now come off. This car has never seen snow and MAYBE rain once. Garage kept, washed and waxed. Needless to say I'm very pissed because I know Ford will try to stick it in my a$$ on this one. Car has only 9500 miles and the paint is bubbling and falling off. WOW! I know there is a TSB for this correct? And I know Ford will try to repair and it will return later so I want a new hood and NOT a rotting Ford one. Anybody just get the repair cost from Ford and go buy there own? I mean if a new Ford hood is $1500 and paint is $500 i'll just save Ford some money and go aftermarket for much less.

First, calm down.
Second, get it repainted. That is all you can do. It *is* under warranty, as you should have a 5 year B-B. This is a known issue with these hoods, they WILL repaint it free.
They will redo your hood, they will not give you another. The hood is not rotting. The paint is delaminating from the hood due to bad paint processes, caused by incomplete cleaning of the hood when they do the seam sealant, which is why it bubbles out from the edges... the seam sealant is leaking back out, and causing the paint to lift off.
It has been known for these Mustangs since 2005. As long as Ford uses the same processes and rolls the dice on which hoods don't exhibit the problem (which, I suppose, is most of them, to hear the lack of complaining) and uses aluminum for the hood, there will be bubbling.
A properly repainted hood will likely NEVER bubble again. The key, though, is to ensure the aluminum is pristine, untouched by anything except good primer and paint, uncontaminated in any way. So pick a good dealer's shop and let 'em have it. And stick Ford with the rental bill.

My sister has a 2012 that she bought this past Feb. The car was brand new with 12 miles.
So far she has taken it back many times to correct the following:
1.) Paint run UNDER the clearcoat on the hood from the factory
2.) Rust bubbles on the leading edge and just under the hood at the spot welds as delivered
3.) Rust in the trunk are just under the rear window at the spot welds as delivered
when the dealership attempted to repair the issues they had an outside shop perform the work. They delivered the car back to her with only the paint run attempted to be fixed. in the process her car came back with what looked like rainbow colored spots all over the upper half of the car. Come to find out the body shop had another car being worked on that required GRINDING and got the hot metal sparks all over my sisters car. They were able to remove some but not all of the metal imbedded. they additionally had to replace both the windshield and rear window from the pits that were in it from the hot metal sparks.
After 5 months they still have not corrected the rust bubbles. to correct the paint 100% from the hot metal sparks they want to repaint the entire upper half of the car !! i told her to push the dealer into replacing the car with another.
I know we all want the cars to be perfect. For my sister in the process of trying to get these issues resolved it turned out to be a disaster. Her car only has 1728 miles on it and she hates it....

hot spots from grinding another car -- sounds like an A-1 operation (that i would avoid like the plague!)

That being said, the factory defects of the paint run and the corrosion under hood and trunk are still there just as others have seen
