"The works" package the same as a service?
Hey all,
Might seem like a dumb question but I took my car in for its 40,000 mile service. Ford did the "works package" on it, which included an oil change and tire rotation and replaced my cabin air filter. They also did a battery service.
Is this pretty much the same as a service for service history purposes? they also recommended I come back in 5000 miles for another on their recommendation card. Which seemed pretty soon!
Any input on this?
Thanks everyone!

If it was 'free' that's fine. If you pay for this, your getting 'the works' . Cabin filters only need to be changed once a year or 15,000 miles. Batteries don't need to be serviced. Tire rotation and oil change are good to have done every 5,000 miles. This is just my opinion.

"The Works" = oil/filter change, tire rotation, multi-point inspection, approx $40-50 depending on how many qts of oil car needs.
40k-mile service = oil/filter change, tire rotation, multi-point inspection, approx $70-80 depending on how many qts of oil car needs.
You pick.
