Tapping with AC on
Got home from work late last night and I heard a tapping noise from the engine area when the AC was on. The clutch would kick the system on and then you'd hear 2-3 taps and then nothing for 2-3 seconds and then 2-3 taps again. Wouldn't do it when the AC was off. Sitting at a traffic light this morning I turned the AC on and heard it. Then shut it off and it goes away. Brought it to the local dealer this morning and dropped it off with service so we'll see.
I think there was a relevant TSB to something like this. It's not the dreaded engine tick I don't think. The engine has been quiet since I changed the oil to 5w-30.
Hoping the service department gets this fixed by this afternoon and hopefully it's nothing crazy.

Dealer just called and they believe its related to the AC Tensioner TSB. Ordered some of the parts from Houston and they'll be here tomorrow. Going to pick up the car and keep it today and hopefully won't have work to deal with tomorrow so I can get it in and get it fixed.

Yeah we'll see. I opened the hood with the AC on at home and it definitely sounds like its coming from the belt area up front. I also get down on the ground on the drivers side and look underneath and the sound is amplified down there. Hood opened with AC off its definitely not there. Only does it with the AC on which makes me feel better and that the TSB related to it will solve it.
It just drives me crazy that these engines are so noisy. I don't expect it to sound like a Prius but they just make so many unnecessary noises compared to the 4.6 I used to have.

I had the same exact problem last month on my 2014 GT. They said they re-adjusted the ac clutch or something to that effect. They didn't have to add parts just realign them. It has been fine since then.
Here was my tick sound

I got the car in at the dealer this morning. No more tapping with AC on, engine area in general seems quieter after the belt and tensioner was replaced in accordance with the TSB. Best of all, it was free. I love manufacturers warranties lol
