"P0315: null" Fault Code

So i decided to log into the Ford website today to check out all of the "sync" features after 7 months of ownership.

While there i was checking for sync updates and other things and noticed i had never signed up for the vehicle health reports and other things... so I did and ran a report once i got home.

Well, what would ya know. I got the following warning:

URGENT
Brake Warning
What Should I Do?
First: Return to your vehicle and start the engine. Check to see if the brake system warning light stays on after a few seconds. If it does, check to see if the parking brake is set. If the parking brake is set, apply the vehicle's service (regular) brakes, make sure the vehicle is in (P) Park (vehicles with an automatic transmission), then release the parking brake. Check to see if the warning light remains on or if it turns off.

What Should I Do If The Warning Light Remains On After Ensuring The Parking Brake Is Not Set? If the brake system warning light remains on with the parking brake fully released, the brake system should be inspected immediately. Contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible.

What Should I Do If The Warning Light Turns Off When The Parking Brake Is Not Set? If the warning light turns off when you fully release the parking brake, run another Vehicle Health Report with the parking brake released. Make sure the vehicle's service (regular) brakes are applied and the vehicle is in (P) Park (vehicles with an automatic transmission). Running a Vehicle Health Report with the parking brake set may have generated the initial brake system warning notification. "

Anyways, it was too ambiguous so i hooked up my bluetooth ECU adapter and ran a fault code check. It returned something totally different.

"Fault log report generated by Torque for Android
=================================================

Vehicle VIN: 1ZV
Vehicle Manufacturer: Ford
Vehicle Calibration ID: Not present

Current Fault Log
------------------
ECU reports no current faults

Pending Fault Log
------------------
ECU reports no pending faults

Historic Fault Log
------------------
P0315: null
Other discovered fault codes
(possibly pending, current or manufacturer specific)
----------------------------------------------------
ECU reports no other fault codes logged

End of report."

English translation: Crankshaft Position (CKP) System Variation Not Learned

So... I plugged in another scanner I had and used another app. Same code.

Car seems to be running fine but I am going to call the dealer anyways. Anyone else run into this before?

Some links i found while doing a google run:

The code is in history meaning its not a current issue. Could have been there for a while now. Just cause it's there doesn't mean you have a problem. The pcm double checks itself when it sees an issue. It has to see this issue at least twice for the light to set. Could be a goof. But from a quick read in your first link it sounds like the pcm was looking to relearn crank position.

Going to the dealer will be a waste of time for the crank code. I can tell you exactly what will happen. "It's a history code, your car currently has no issues. We can't diagnose a problem it the car isn't showing any current issues."

That's good to hear. Any reason it won't clear though? I tried to clear all fault codes but it stayed (unless that does not clear history?).

I haven't used torque with a newer Mustang. Maybe torque doesn't support the latest protocol or something. Also could be similar to a p1000 code. The pcm will clear it when it's done relearning (if it's still currently trying to relearn). If the car runs with no problems then I would ignore a history code. Also. Make sure the car is off when you send the clear command.
