I recommend you make an appointment with your dealer for diagnosis and PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can get this escalated to the Customer Service Manager for your area.

the mechanical pop/tick noise that most mechanics hear on "other cars" that have valve sealing problem or a bad exhaust manifold gasket; is kinda like a standard feature with most 5.0l engines.
it can be heard/noticed if you are in an enclosed garage or near a drive-thru walled area. same can be heard on my old '86 and '93 5.0s. i had no problem in 210,000mi with the '86 and the '93 have 193,000 on the clock now.
i know we are talking about 2 different engines here, but the thin wall shorty header design is similar with the collectors exiting near the firewall of the car. From what I understand its due to valve overlap and exhaust pulses that are audible.
I noticed the noise on my new 2012 and first thought was, "this sounds like my old 5.0".
If you're still unsure, take it in and good chance they will say its a no-defect situation.
