Radio displays "MUSTANG" and does not work after battery died
Hi there. I'm new to this community and I'm looking for some updated help given I've found very few threads about this and they're a bit outdated.
I've got a 2013 v6 with shaker audio system. I took it in to the shop because it was misfiring. Simple fix with spark plugs, etc. After I asked them to check my breaks, they say the battery died. I'm a little bit confused on that one, but okay I guess. They replaced the battery and now my radio just displays "MUSTANG" with the temperature. It does not function at all besides showing that display.
The mechanic checked the fuses and supposedly they're fine, I've disconnected the battery for 10-15 min to see if it'll reset it, and I've tried the "seek up + on/off" button combo to reset it (assuming anti-theft issues). No luck whatsoever. Does anybody have any idea what might be causing this besides the ACM, or just have any ideas that I could try with fixing this?
Mechanic did all he could to figure it out. He told me to take it to the dealership because now the knowledge is out of his hands. Should this be an expense I should hold the shop liable for given they returned the car to me after repairs and the radio is now botched? I haven't spoken with the shop owner yet because my work schedule hasn't allowed for it, but that's the next step.
TIA
