Power Windows

I have noticed that on my new 2014 Mustang the window, on both doors,
move down, when opening, and back up in door molding (about 3/4 ")
when closing door. I would suppose it is to eliminate wind noise as well
as seal out water but it would seem to me that this constant window operation will cause a malfunction problem over time.
Is this a new design for 2014?

It's normal. It makes closing the door easier by releasing air pressure.

This is how they are designed, jtb3. This has been in place since 2005.

If the windows do not function the full run properly, there is a simple reprogramming technique in the manual. I tend to reprogram mine every once in a while just because....
