Paint issues

My car is 3 months old. There seems to be a couple raised sections and some of the paint is coming off on these raised section. It's in the engine bay and on the lip of the wheel well. Is this something ford will warranty? It looks like a paint defect for sure.I'm pretty upset about it, because to fix the wheel well they will have to respray the entire quarter panel and then blend further up. The only upside to them having to paint the quarter panel is that it'll fix a rock chip I have further up in the wheel well. What do you guys think? Let me know what you think I should do.

You should take it to ford..and make sure it gets fixed. That's what I'd do

I did, they put in a warranty claim. I should know something by tomorrow. I'm going to be pretty upset if it's denied. It's literally 12 weeks old.

Hey mikeyt03,

Let me get this paint concern escalated for you. PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can forward it to the Customer Service Manager for your area.

Almost looks like what happens when you spray paint over a silicone contaminated surface or something. Wonder if handprints or contamination got on panels before they were painted.

Hope they fix it for you.

Totally agree^ that's exactly what causes that. Improper prepping and outside contamination. The first pic looks like a fish eye. (Run)

That's just sloppy. Sorry hear that bro. That would keep me up at night. Hoping for the best for you.

Under the master cylinder sounds like a brake fluid leak. I had my dealer switch out for DOT4 due to spongy brakes with the stock DOT3, but they overfilled (keep DOT4 a little below the line) and it leaked, bubbling the paint up. Ford did not cover it (and I dont blame them b/c its not a mfg defect) but my dealer made good and resprayed it at no cost.

Just an update, ford approved a repaint on the area's in question on my car. I'm also getting the lca's replaced at the same time. They should have my car for about a week though. Should I ask for a rental?
