Mis-Aligned Fuel Filler Door
Mis-Aligned Fuel Filler Door
Does anyone know how to adjust an misaligned fuel filler Door? Mine is out of alignment from the factory on my 2013. I can't see anywhere to do it from the trunk. The only other option is to remove the rear wheel and inside well cover. Is this a major project?
I installed a new door and found the stock one very easy to work on. Just open the door and look inside (around the inside edge) or feel inside for the nuts that hold it to the car. You can loosen all of them and adjust the door and then retighten.
I can't seem to get photos on this site for some reason, so here is a link to installation instructions from Silver Horse Racing. These come with the Brushed Aluminum door I installed, and should help with the stock door adjustment. They also give you the size wrench needed for the stock nuts.
Figure one shows the opening with the door removed, and shows the holes where the bolts attach. Paragraph 2, talks about removing the door, and where the bolts are located.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, yes this is very helpfull. I had reported this issue to my dealer but then decided to let it go. But this weekend I show judge was lolling at my car and told me that would be a deduction. I don't like shows but since someone noticed it in fixing it.
