Mysterious coolant leak on my 2011 5.0
I just dropped my car off at the dealership tonight for coolant that looks like it's leaking from near the water pump. I saw another thread similar to my issue but the OP never posted the outcome so I thought I'd start my own.
Today was my day off and I took the car out to run errands. Periodically throughout the day while idling the fan would kick on. I didn't think anything of it, but being only 52 out today it shouldn't have, at least not as much as it did. When I got back home I noticed 2 small half dollar size spots of coolant on my garage floor. I couldn't see anything leaking under the hood and the hoses looked ok so I put it up on stands and looked underneath. The oil change service cover was wet from coolant and when I removed it I could see it looked wet from where the block meets the oil pan. I could only think it could be coming from the water pump. I looked under the middle of the car and saw it had leaked all the way down the block right above the oil pan until it met the trans. Also the power steering box and connections are soaked in coolant.
Has anyone else experienced this? What was the outcome? Hopefully I'll hear back from my dealer some time tomorrow.

Update: Dealership replaced the water pump and she's ready to go. He said the pump just failed and was leaking coolant out near the fan.
Props to Rod Baker Ford! I dropped it off @ 8pm last night and it's ready now. Only problem is it's snowing like crazy and I'm not about to drive it in this.

Nice man, glad you got it taken care of. Did you get it home ok?!
That's why I don't want to bring my in for the loud squealing from the rear brakes. I am like you, I dont have bad luck, I have NO luck, and we'll get our first snow and I don't want to ever drive it in the snow lol.
That and the fact that it's most likely from the brakes and it will be money out of pocket even tho it only has 1600 miles

Yeah I brought it home a couple days after the snow. I cringed driving it with all the salt on the ground. I went like 20mph the whole way lol.
I would definitely bring yours in for the breaks. Only 1600 miles...they shouldn't be squeaking.

Yeah definitely not. It's only under light application of the breaks and it's like a chirping sound. No clue but I'm taking a guess and saying cracked pad???
