Leather Seat wear / peeling

So as many of you know I recently purchased a 2011 Shelby. As I was detailing it I noticed the driver's side side bolster area has a lot of wear from the seat-belt. In addition in that area it appears the leather is "peeling" the top layer. Has anyone gotten theirs replaced with more than 12 - 15k miles on the car?

Ford replaced the drivers lower on my '07 VT vert twice when over 15,000 miles.

As part of regular warranty? My dealer offered me something for interior, but that was extra. My seats are good so far; just curious.

Yes...regular warranty. That car did not have the special interior/paint protection plan. They also did my '11 drivers seat base once under regular warranty. I also have moved where I carry my wallet.......

I took it in today and they took pictures of the cars exterior and the seat. When I asked why the pics of the exterior i was told that if Ford believes the car is not taken care of.... they would more than likely not cover the cost of replacing the seat covers. Mine will be covered !!

It's either covered or it's not. I have heard from my dealer that they can't really do ANYTHING warranty related without blessing from above... so a comment like that doesn't surpise me, but it does **** me off.

Glad to learn you already brought it in to your dealer, MyStang2010GB. Keep me posted on the outcome.

Can you post pics of the area and wear you've got? I haven't noticed anything on mine, but its only got around 5K on it, but I'd like to see what's going on so I can keep an eye on it.

Some wrinkling is expected, but are you treating it with anything?

You'll notice two spots that look like a white stain on seat. that is actually where the leather came off when i was washing the seat with leather cleaner / conditioner.

I've got some aerospace stuff that I use on the stripes. I haven't done my seats yet though. Once spring starts to come around, I'll spray em down while I'm detailing the car.
