Just scheduled my first warranty repair

My car goes in Wednesday 10 June to have a few items addressed before my warranty expires in 33 days or 300 miles, which ever comes first. Hopefully they take care of it quickly. The service folks didn't seem to have an issue with it, so I'm hoping for the best. This will be the first time the car has been to a dealer since I drove it home on July 8, 2012.

The items to be fixed:

1) The pony projector lights are messed up. Seems to be a common problem. So common that there was a Mustang in the bay awaiting pick up after having the same repair.

2) Passenger side vanity mirror lid doesn't snap tightly shut like drivers side. There is a TSB out for this issue. The light is still off, but I might as well have it fixed.

3) The trickiest problem is that the edge binding on the convertible top near on drivers rear where it enters the top well is rubbing and starting to fray. it looks like the last 2 inches of the top have pulled out of the frame just enough to rub. He said his interior guy that comes in on Thursdays can fix it easily. I'm guessing this kind of work is subbed out so that's why the guy is there on Thursdays.

Since those are the only issues I've had, I'll give Ford credit on building a good car.

So, wish me luck. Hopefully my story ends with me giving kudos to a dealership instead of making a voodoo doll of the service manager and sticking pins in it before lighting it on fire.

I should be OK...it's cloudy and supposed to rain today

Service manager likes the car, and when I told him I'm supercharging it soon, he told me he is putting the Hellion twin turbo in his this summer. It was weird seeing the empty spot in my garage last night. Even weirder driving the wife's Saturn to work.

Update: Lamps and visor repaired, but top could not be fixed. Ford has authorized replacing the top under warranty. If their work turns out good, I'll be one of those rare posters with a good dealer experience.

My drivers side visor mirror lid won't snap closed. Is this an issue?

Another update: Dealer called today and said top arrived today and they have started that job. Nice getting updates without having to call first.

My car was finished today and I picked it up. All work is complete and the new top looks perfect. The car was washed, vacuumed, and tires shined. I was really nervous about letting them touch my car but drove away very happy.

please look before warranty is gone- bubbling always starts underneath, 1/2" under the edge, right where the 'end' of the folded top panel edge is... look all the way around- if its not bubbled somewhere, well, I dunno... never saw one yet that wasnt bubbled somewhere.

corrosion always starts between layers where the crimped edge is.

Yeah my 2400 mile car has started the paint bubbling. I'm trying to find a Ford dealer body shop that will have a "lifetime guarantee" on their paint work as I'm sure it will come back again, and I will utilize their lifetime offer for life!
