OK, thanks. If I can't get satisfaction from Ford, then this will determine rather I replace my hood or get it repainted by someone who knows how to paint aluminum.

The problem is that once the corrosion is in the seams, nothing is going to get it out, and it will keep coming back. Im going to have mine repaintes by Ford before my bumper to bumper runs out and then getting a new hood.

Yep, this exactly. When I went to my Ford dealer's body shop, they said it was basically impossible to repaint one and guarantee the problem wouldn't return - they only recommended doing a complete replacement.

I just got my GT back, and they painted the whole hood. Took it off, painted both sides, put it back on and aligned it. It looks great.
They also changed out the airbag.
I'm happy, happy.

Did my winter prep exterior detail yesterday, and sure enough, the bubbling is just barely starting to come onto the top side above the passenger headlight.
I had been watching this carefully from day one, hoping it would spread so slow that I wouldn't ever need to deal with it, but sure enough, it's now to where it will need to be dealt with. The last thing I want to do is paintwork and the potential headaches that go with it going into winter.
Problem is I can't wait until spring, since I am at 35,850 miles, and I drive 50 miles a day, so my warranty will be gone on Wednesday of this week. I don't have a chance in hell of getting an appointment before then, so I'm just going to drive in there at 7 AM tomorrow or Tuesday when they open. Shouldn't need an appointment anyway just to spend 5 minutes showing them something and have them take some pictures and send to Ford.
Does this TSB have to be taken care of under the 3/36k bumper to bumper warranty, or can it be done later?

Going to just go in tomorrow morning right when they open and show them that and the now waterlogged pony projection lamp I just noticed this morning too and hope they can take care of me.

Ford approved the repair, dropped it off Monday, picked it up today. They did a fantastic job, and the seam sealer is even nicer than the factory job, which was pretty **** nice to begin with. Rental was covered too.
Glad this is over.

I started my own thread because of somehow missing this one, so I guess I'll post in here too. Anybody have any luck getting this taken care of outside of the 3/36? My 2013 is a few months shy of 5 years old has 57k. It has recently developed the oxidation issue on the leading edge and underside of the hood and is taking hold quickly.
Was at the dealer today to schedule my airbag recall finally and asked service about the oxidation as well. They were pretty adamant that warranty is 3/36. I say I thought paint and body was 5 year and was told that was only for perforation. I tell them I thought there's a TSB out there for them and the hoods are aluminum so we both know no perforation is going to occur. He agreed and said we'll take a look at it when I bring it in for the airbag but it might ultimately be up to higher management at the dealer
Doesn't look like we have Deysha or any other reps around anymore?

Push the TSB issue - that's a major change given it just came out in the past few months even though the problem has been happening for 10 years.
I got my dealer to agree they and Ford would split the cost 50/50 with me but I ended up going aftermarket for less $ still.

Is Ford paying for this?
