I'm just operating under the old and, I believe, sound advice that if you can't afford to cover the cost of repairing everything yourself, don't modify anything until your warranty has expired.

I would love to get a tune for my Stang but it isn't worth the risk.

You forgot the part about your Galaxie. lol

I just got rid of the squeak on my brand new '14 GT. Ford had to replace the driver side rear axle.

The original poster claimed that the dealer attempted a fix to the squeak before lowering the car. So he has documented evidence that the squeak was there prior to the modifications. If the dealer won't fix it now, try another dealer and take your warranty repair paperwork with you to show that the repair was attempted by another dealer.

Definitely contact Deysha and go further up the ladder ...
Thank you for the mention, guys!

Any updates on this, KushBandit?

In my limited experience with Ford since this is my first new Ford vehicle, I would say they are below average in the warranty department. All of my new vehicles prior to this were GM and they never gave me any problems about fixing stuff while the vehicle was under warranty and once on a S-10 that I had bought new and had the dealer do the tranny fluid changes on it, when the transmission developed problems after my warranty was expired, they replaced it for free.

Ford on the other hand made me jump through hoops for four months on something fairly minor and I had to get Deysha involved and bring up the SSM to the regional CS guy to get any resolution. This was on the radio display issue where the SSM had come out a month before I had brought my car in for this problem and no one seemed to know about it or just didn't want to fix it on their dime.

I'm happy that my issue was finally resolved but it shouldn't have even had to go that far for it to get done. I hope you can get this resolved since this is a widely know problem.

I fixed the issue. The dealer didn't grease up the new front Lower Control Arms when they were installed, nor did they find my bad rear LCA bushings.(again, I don't think they drove it for a diagnosis).

Greased up the front end, installed new rear LCAs, and now the squeaks are long gone.

I appreciate your help Deysha.

WD-40 is a water displacement agent. Not a lubricant. It's to clean parts before you grease.

sorry Charlie

yeah our 65 galaxie still has its original rubber boots/balljoints/tierods - quality rubber back in those days, although the upper control arm busings needed replaced at 40 years...

I guess I must repeat myself a awful lot...oh no, I'm turning into my stepdad
