Factory Alignment Off
Today I was doing my normal 5,000 mile oil change, when I noticed that the inner edge of both front tires is worn pretty badly. Now I haven't been rotating, because the rear tires are pretty thin (I know what caused that, but this had to happened over the last 5,000 miles, otherwise I would have noticed. My car has always had some vibration in the steering, but it has't been real bad so I have lived with i, and told myself I would address this when I needed new tires. Well here I am, 20,000 miles on my car with the front two tires worn almost to the cord on the insides. My car is not driven that hard, and it hasn't hit anything that would have caused this. Something is either bad, or the aligment was never right from the get go. I am going to take it to Ford next week to see what they say, but I am thinking they should cover at least part of this because it had to be that way all along. I want to put some Hankook Ventus tires on, but I will just have to see what they say. Has anyone else had an issue like this, and if so, what happened?

Sure it could if the misalignment was small.
And the wear always gets worse as time goes on.
It's not a big deal, a fresh alignment and two new tires and then keep a closer eye on it so it doesn't kill the two new tires.
I wouldn't count on Ford eating it though.

I agree with you bringing this to your Ford dealer’s attention as soon as possible. Your Service Manager will be in the best position to help you. If you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to PM me with your VIN, dealer, and contact info.

i know this post is old but i was wondering what turned out from going to your dealer about this?
also might need some help fromt he ford customer service on this one..
my 2012 mustang GTCS has 10k miles, last tire rotation was at 3500.. the car was in a minor front end collision at 3000 miles. after getting the repairs the dealer did a front end alignment (according to the list of everything i paid for which cost 311.45)
I finally decided to change the suspension on my car as i wanted to performance and looks improved. when i took the wheels off the front they inside tread is basically gone, the rest of the tire still looks great. Im worried they are going to say its because i have an "aftermarket" suspension when I take it in tomorrow for the alignment on the new suspension.
not sure what all ford can do to help out. but i dont think i should have to buy new tires after 10k and having a ford alignment only 6500 miles ago.
thanks for any input?
