okay so im not a mechanic at this but is this the same thing as "main bearing" we talked about in other thread? and was it after this inspection sheet that they said "ok forget it we're getting a new engine"..? now it makes perfect sense...whenever we try to record this knock its always coming from lower end under the engine...
You just don't know until the investigation starts.
After my engine was diagnosed, thee were two options. Fix everything they found (which I would have never agreed to on an engine that has 11500 miles) but I didn't have to say anything. Tasca just knew to replace it.
I believe it is easier in the long run to replace the short block anyway. Sending out the parts to be machined is a pain.
Yes this is the same info from other thread. Engine knocks can come from several issues. Some serious like a connecting rod bearing, main crank bearing, or broken rocker arm ( a those are bad) a simple knock could come from timing being off which can lead to pre ignition even a suspension bushing being worn out.
