Brembo brake squeal

Okay, so I know there are other threads on here about this, and I know some folks recommend anti-squeal-stuff in a spray can. But I thought I would seek some more advise here. 2011 GT, 14" Brembo front brakes, 13.8" GT500 rear brakes, OEM Boss pads (Ferodo) all around. Street car, 3-4 track days per year, very low miles (5k/year). After a track day in May, I had the brakes inspected and fluid flush (DOT 5.1). Technician indicated entire brake system is good, no need for pads or rotor-cutting (no grooves in rotors, very smooth surfaces all around). So shortly after that I get a brake squeal. I thought it would dissipate, but nope. This one is weird though...at light pedal pressure there is no noise. At firm pedal pressure there is no noise. Only that middle-point of medium pressure is there a squeal. And it is LOUD. And not getting any better - been three months now. Any thoughts on what it might be? Shims? Pads? I know I can take it in again, but I am hoping that someone has had this same issue and can offer advise. Thanks!

Hey Pete, can you narrow down if it's coming from the front or rear? If so I'd recommend taking the pads out, putting some pad grease on the back, and putting it all back together.

Hi, definitely the fronts. Used a ton of brake cleaner, and it's better now. I have a track day in a few weeks, and I'm hoping the repeated hard stops kills the squeak. If not, I'll grease the backs of the front pads. Thanks!

Hi guys
I have mustang 2013 GT I upgraded the front brakes to the brembo brakes and install drilled rotors its 13.9”. When I install the whole kit and drive car for one day there is a loud noise sqealing so loud. I get the car to the dealership and they said you have to change the brake pads, I did changed them in the dealer and pay 400$ for new pad and still making loud noises, Only that middle-point of medium pressure is there a squeal. And it is LOUD. And not getting any better. Do you think the noise from the rotors because it’s cheap I got pair for 160$ From americanmuscle.com

could be the rotors and/or pads, hard to say from here . . .

the first things I would do are make sure the backs of the pads are greased (with the appropriate high temp brake grease) and do a good brake pad bedding

if you are not familiar with bedding brakes, google it . . .

If you're using OEM pads, it's probably related to the BACK of the pad. You need to apply grease and/or sticky spray. Hopefully that will fix/reduce the noise.
