Brake Pedal Squeak, Axle tube leak, LCD screen de-lamination, and LCA Squeak

I changed my oil/filter today then rotated my tires. Upon looking under my car I noticed this:

Awesome. Not that big of a deal. Just take it to the dealer for fixing right? Hop in my car to go for a cruise. I start pulling out of my apartment complex and notice my brake pedal feels funky. It engages a little farther down and makes an nice squeak. Great add that to the dealer repair list. I'm starting to get fed up with this car. I've only had it for 14 months and it has 11200 miles on it. So right now my car has these problems with it:
  • LCA Squeak
  • LCD Radio Screen De-lamination
  • Axle Tube Leak
  • Brake Pedal Squeak/Lower Engagement

Previously fixed is a engine sensor, and water seeping in between the body panels. Did I get a lemon or what?!

Took it to the dealer, this is what they said:

LCA Squeak - Couldn't find anything. Everything is tight and good to go. (OK, it mostly squeaks over speed bumps and when the car has been running for awhile. I'll wait until it gets worse and bring back.)

LCD Screen De-lamination- Dealer says the screen needs clean. They clean the screen and says it looks fine/normal. (The LCD screen is still cloudy as hell and started to flake some more when I got home.)

Axle Breather Leak- Dealer says this is normal. (I look at the Ford TSB and agree with the dealer that this might be normal.)

Brake Pedal Squeak - Dealer couldn't replicate and says brakes are good. (The brake pedal immediately made a weird sound when I picked the Mustang up. Whatever, my brakes still work fine.)

I'm going to work with my Customer Service Rep. some more and see if I can at least get my LCD screen replaced. I find it absolutely ridiculous that my dealer thinks a cloudy radio screen is "normal". I will be finding a new Ford dealer in the area!

Dave,

I'd follow up with Deysha regarding the LCD screen issue. Foggy/flaking is definitely not normal, the dealer just didn't want to replace a functioning unit because it's expensive and draws attention (creates more work for them). It is however defective if the screen is foggy and flaking. If the dealer asks if you've ever cleaned it with anything, tell them no.

The LCA squeak, they should have at least lubed all the bushings, I would also push this issue.

The axle breather leak is normal, I wouldn't be worried about it.

If your brake pedal continues to act up, start making a log of when it happens and what the circumstances are. Time of day, temperature, first drive of the day, etc.

It sounds like your dealer/tech just didn't want to take the time to truly look into your issues.

Good luck!

Junkstang?

My CSM asked me to call a different dealer and set up an appointment. I called the next closest dealer and told them my situation. They stated that my Ford CSM would have to call and set up an appointment for me. So I called my Ford CSM on 18th and the 25th. Left a message BOTH times and asked to call back but haven't heard anything yet.

Deysha, can you see whats going on?

Also, I was driving tonight on the highway and my clutch pedal only returned about a 1/4 of the way!!! I had to lift the pedal back up with my left foot. I drove it back to my apartment and everything seemed fine! I'm about done with this car.

The vent leak is not normal. Well it is normal but shouldn't be lol.

DR3Z-4022-A "KIT HOSE ASY"

about $10 plus shipping from http://www.levittownfordsupercenter.com/ or http://parts.autonationfordwhitebearlake.com/

This is the fix. At least show them the numbers of the kit when you go to your appointment.

Thanks for the info! I might do this if I'm still seeing leaking. I have been monitoring it and the breather has seemed to stop leaking at this point.

Update:

Had an appointment today at Tri-Star Ford in Blairsville, PA. They didn't anything to my mustang. They said that there chassis ears were broken and couldn't do anything with the LCA squeak. As for the radio screen, they said its an unwarrantable issue/part!! This directly contradicts what the regional Ford representative told me on the phone!!! He said there was TSB/SSM on certain radio screens. The regional Ford representative said he had sent all this information to the dealer so I could get everything fixed up and back on the road. Unbelievable!! I called the regional rep to see what is going on and had to leave a message.

I'm so frustrated with Ford and their dealerships right now. This is my first new car experience and it has been awful.

Note the cloudiness and how the previous dealer put micro scratches in the screen from "detailing" it.
