Question Brake pedal makes an audible 'click' sound when released (while driving)

2014 V6 Auto. Sometimes, I hear my brake pedal make a brief click sound when I release it while driving. I do not have any issues braking, and the brakes work as intended, but usually I will hear the click from the brake pedal every so often.

If I put my car in park and press the brake, I hear the click come from the shifter (this is normal from what I've read).
If I put my car in drive and release the brake (depending on how much pressure I apply), I hear the click come from the pedal area itself (which I am unsure about).

I attached a video (sorry for the turn signal; max your volume). Thanks.

I Would Check Stoplight Switch! Here is Pedal Picture So You Can See What You Are Dealing With.

Hi, thanks for your reply. To be honest, I do not have the means or know how to access any of this (I do not know much about cars). However, what I can say is that my brake lights are fully functional and I receive no indication of any other related issues except for that very subtle audible click

my first guess is also that it is the brake light switch making an audible clicking sound -- which is not a problem, just a clicky sounding switch .... if you can get your head down there, and push the brake pedal by hand, you might be able to hear the click and localize where it is coming from .... if it is that switch, I would expect it to click whether the car is running or not

Hi sorry for the late response. I attached a video of me doing just that. The car is in park, and I will hear the click come from the shifter, and the pedal. When the car is taken out of park, I hear it from the pedal. It might be the brake light

Sounds Like Your Brake Booster to Me!

They are a Vacuum Chamber and Can Start to Wear Out & Leak.

That's a Whoosh Sound To Me! I Have Replaced a Few Brake Boosters over the Years!

Is Your Brake Pedal Getting Harder to Push than it Has Been???

{Some Noise is Normal } But Perhaps you Just Have Some really Sharp Ears!

I Would Pay a Visit to a Used Car Lot With a Similar Car and Give it a Test and See if Noise is in that Car!

If So Good To Go!

If Not Booster Maybe on it's Way Out!

This May Get You Your Answer!

Check out Post 10&11 Here For Explanation of Booster & How to test it! Mostly 11
