Deysha,
Its been some time since I pursued this issue with the rear end. The Dealer in Pa. did finally take care of the brake light/remote start issue but the rear end noise is still there. After a long highway trip and listening to the noise, I brought it tonight (12/01) to the local North Brunswick Ford dealer. I had hoped a mechanic could come for a ride, but they said let the mechanic check it out first, and if there is a question they will contact me. Wish me luck! and thanks for all of your past help and I will keep you all posted.

Deysha,
Well they took it for a ride yesterday and said they could not find anything wrong. I offered to come in before todays end take a ride with them, but they said the mechanic would take it out again today and they would let me know.
Thanks!

Well they never did call and let me know how things were going, the service writer left early and when I called they said they were waiting for me. I did go and take a ride with the mechanic, he said he could not duplicate the problem, and when I asked to drive, I was told it was their policy that I could not drive the car when they were in it.
I have no idea what to do.

You may have to go to a different Ford Dealer, snarlman. Let me get this escalated for you first, then you can work with the CSM on next steps. I have your VIN, will you please PM me with your best daytime number, mileage, and dealer you went to?

The dealer did say I could leave it one more day and the supervisor-foreman(?) would take it for a drive.
I will make an appointment for the following week (I work a later shift this week) with them, for another ride.
The noise only happens during at steady speed (usually just below 60), and its really hard to duplicate.

Please stay in contact with your CSM until this has been addressed for you, snarlman.

Deysha,
Thanks again, a Ford rep did call and we are working on setting up an appointment with the dealer. The head mechanic will most likely take a ride with me, and we may also take out a similar car to see if it does the same thing.

Many thanks! for making this possible!

I am happy to post, the head mechanic went for a ride with me and heard the noise right off! He suspected it was the drive shaft, and I scheduled an appointment (for work) after the new year, dropped it off and it was diagnosed as it being a bad drive shift. He did have to follow all of Fords tech guide lines before he could order one, but it is on order and due in 3 - 5 days and they will call me.

I can't say how happy I am that it was diagnosed and is being taken care of.

Many thanks to Deysha and the CSM Erica!

I will let you know how it goes after all is complete.

Update: I picked up the car yesterday and finally took it for a ride this morning to work. Everything is great! the new driveshaft is in, and no rumbles or vibration, Nothing!.
I can't say how happy I am with the car.

Nothing but thanks to Deysha and Erica for helping my issue.

For those with any issue, be patient, there is some red tape and channels to go through, but the end result is worth it.

Hats off to Malouf's mechanic~forman John, he knew right off what the issue was, fixed it, and posted great notes on what was checked and the results on the ticket.
