2013 No GPS problem

So I have a 2013 with the NAV package and every now and then it will say NO GPS. I live in Texas and It says I'm off road somewhere in Louisiana. It won't even tell me the correct direction in traveling. I've only been driving the car for 1500 miles.

What is the problem, and what should I do? I did a search, but I couldn't figure out what's going on.

The obvious answer is that your car's GPS receiver loses its connection to GPS satellites. This is not unusual when you are going through a tunnel, but should not happen in wide open spaces. I assume your car is still under warranty. I would take it to a dealer and have them check it out. Normally, GPS units will still have you in the area where they were last operating normally. So even if yours is losing power and then coming back up, it should not have you in another state.

It still works, it's just really lost by a few hundred miles. I would be going west and it would say I was traveling east. it worked yesterday fine, but all of the sudden it got lost and stayed that way.

That begins to sound like programming. The GPS receiver gets signals from multiple satellites and determines where you are (in longitude and latitude terms, I believe) within a matter of yards or even feet. It uses map data to display your location and changes in signals from satellites to provide direction and speed. It sounds like the programming has become screwed up so that it can't properly interpret the map data, etc. I would definitely take it to a dealer.

Hi blairnr67,

I agree with tukatz. Please bring your vehicle in to your Ford dealer as soon as possible for diagnosis and let me escalate this to the customer service manager of your area. Please, make an appointment with any Ford dealer and PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can help.
