2011 GTCS with MT82 in shop for 10 weeks
My 2011 GTCS has been at the Ford dealer for 10 weeks for warranty repair due to issues with the MT82 transmission. The week before Christmas it wouldn't go into 3rd gear anymore- nothing but grinding. Even with the car stopped and the clutch pressed in, only would grind. Took the car to the dealer I bought it from and they suspected bad 3rd gear and/or synchro.
The dealer had not had a Mustang with a bad MT-82, so they did not have the tools to tear it down. It took about 2 weeks to get the right tools and the rest of the time has been waiting on parts backordered from Ford. They got the backordered 3rd gear parts from Ford last week and also discovered a problem with 4th gear and had to order parts for that. The fourth gear parts are supposedly on the way. With this being a 2011 car, I know we are past the Lemon Laws for Ohio. Can anyone speculate fair compensation for the loss of use of the car due to Ford? I am continuing to make payments and pay insurance on it. It is my 4th new Mustang I have bought. My first one, a 1992 LX 5.0 had a bad trans from the factory- was rebuilt in about 2 weeks. I am a 23 year loyal customer who is a little annoyed now.

I want to see what I can do to help. How many miles are on your Mustang currently? I'll get to work on some options.

The car has about 29,000 miles. It was bought in October 2010, and I bought the extended service plan from Ford when I purchased the car. It should still be under the 5/60 power train warranty I believe.
