171 and 174 codes
I have a stock 2010 mustang with the V6, yesterday she was running great all day and then out of nowhere started surging and then stalled and died. I managed to make it home and check the codes and it gave me 171,174,2195,2197 when I cleared everything and tried to take up to the gas station to put some super in it I got a 795 code. it wont idle but when I was making it home I had it nearly floored and she was going great but once I let off she stalled and died again. I am at a loss here, if this car was my 76 I would know what to do but....
in addition:
Just changed the fuel filter now I am getting 300,304,305,306 cylinder misfires

Type each code in the Google search window, and start reading up on the threads it will provide.
The later codes indicate a misfire for cylinders 4, 5, and 6 (304,305,and 306; 300 is a randum misfire. Here's a link from a google search that shows possible solutions to misfires:

Here's a link to many of the Mustang trouble code definitions:

I'd suspect the coilpack connector as a possibility, or it's wiring with the second set of codes you got. Check it's connector. Remove the coil pack and inspect it for cracks. Here's what it looks like:
It's a pricy part at $159.00, so be sure it's bad before replacing it. There are other possibilities for misfires.
Did anything get repaired under the hood recently? Maybe a wiring connector got damaged? A gound wire?

Welcome to the forum! My name is Deysha with Ford Service. I recommend having your vehicle checked out at your Ford Dealer and speaking to your Service Manager about this. He/she is in the best position to look into this for you. He/she can check into any warranty, assistance, recalls, or Customer Satisfaction Programs that may apply to your vehicle. Let me know the outcome.

Did you inspect it prior to replacing it (coil pack)? Not good to hear you bought one and gambled with it. The other link I listed also provideds other reasons for mis-fires. Hopefully it is not a costly repair, although labor is about 90 bucks an hour, then there's parts.

So it turns out to be several issues one that was the main culprit and a couple small ones that contributed to it. MAF was the biggie, but they also replaced plugs and wires. I had them do the fuel injectors as well as some regular maint items ( oil and tranny service) all in all it cost me $1400 plus a rental car. Ouch!

I went back and checked the link to troubleshooting mis-fires, and it never listed the MAF as a suspect item for misfires.
Plugs, plug wires, the ignition module, and injectors were all suspect. What was the part cost for the MAF?
