Will Polk Audio db571 Fit?

Hi,All...Wondering if the db571 will fit in a 2011 Mustang(shaker 500) door without any drilling or modifications?..I've read that people are installing them in F150,focus,etc....but nothing is mentioned whether the speakers had to be altered or not. I was thinking about Pioneer D6802r's(as they seem to be popular),but my friend says that the Pioneer's will need alot more power to operate since they aren't as sensitive as the polks(88db vs.93db). Yes, they will fit fine according to crutchfield. They just went out of stock, which isn't a surprise since they are buy one get one 50% off. Good deal for two sets for 150.

yes they will fit and you can get it much cheaper in other sites. just look around
you can get it less than 60$ from Amazon stores.
I was thinking of these but got the MM series as they have cross over and have lower frequencies response.

How do you like the MM?

I'm waiting for the rest of my audio setup to arrive to start the install. I'm shipping internationally and my sub has been delayed by carrier.

I'm expecting it to arrive next week, so I'll start the install then.
I'll try to post some pictures of the install and share my experience.

I'm curious to see where you decide to mount the crossovers. I'd appreciate the pics and at least the info. I'm interested in those as well.

I was looking at the db571s or the DXi570s for a replacement set.

Just received the rest of my setup this afternoon. I've decided to have it installed by an audio shop tomorrow. I'll try to take some pics of the install.

I picked up two pair of DXi570s at my local Best Buy last night for $60 each. Installed them in the fronts today and it's a totally different sound. When you actually hold the stock speaker in your hand, it's nothing like the Polk.

I used Polk Audio DB571's in my 2013 GT. Huge improvement over stock. Good prices on Amazon too way cheaper than Crutchfield. These Polks are very efficient speakers so it doesn't take much wattage to drive them. They fit with no modification in the stock speaker housing. Holes lined up too. You can buy the Metra Ford speaker wire adapter also so it's plug and play. Whole job took about a half hour.

Some owners reported that the Metra adapters had the polarity swapped, so verify how it sounds before buttoning your door panel. Test listen as is, then run with the wires crossed, you should easily tell which one is out of phase.

Yes, db571s fit. I replaced both my front and rears with them on my 2011. You'll need a screw spacer for one of the screws on each of the fronts as the new speakers have a lower profile than the stock speakers. Spacers can be picked up for a $1 for a pack at home depot. I grabbed wiring harnesses off of ebay for $5 a pair; not sure how the metra's are. The polks I got off of amazon for $60 a pair.

hope that helps

Someone told me the Pioneer D series will fit in the door but not in the back deck due to the height. They put A series in the rear deck.

I just ordered a pair of the polk db571's for the doors of my '13. I have a premium with the shaker 500 system. I ordered the metra harnesses also. I saw a couple threads where people said I needed some kind of spacer from tousley ford? Do I need anything besides the speakers and harnesses? If I do need a spacer I would like to order them before I have the thing torn apart. Thanks in advance for any additional info!

Jriss138, does your '13 have the shaker 500? Does it matter, or will these fit in a base or premium? Thanks.

Yes, you will need the spacer/adapters from a ford dealer. You have to get it from a 2010 GT. I got mine from Tasca Ford. I hope this link works. It's #7 in the diagram. http://tascaparts.com/parts/2010/FOR...eaker%20spacer

I installed the polk db571's in the doors of my '13 with the shaker 500 last night. What a difference. I'm very pleased with them. The mounts worked great. It made a big difference in the mids and highs, and they blend nicely with the factory door subs. Down the road I might get a couple more for the rear deck, but at the moment I am happy. With the polks ordered off of amazon, the metra harnesses, and the ford mounts it was right around a hundred bucks, and well worth it, IMHO.

Good to hear, I'll be installing them in my doors and rear side panels in my convertible, hopefully next weekend.

hopefully they fill in the mid and top sufficiently, so I don't have to change to components up front.

any loss or gain in volume on the stock stuff?

I'll also be switching to a Kenwood deck, but the speakers will be done first. The Kenwood *might* arrive next weekend, but not positive.
