Sync + iOS7

I read that some lost the ability to control iOS7 from the steering wheel controls.
Has anyone experienced this?
Holding out in the update for a couple of reasons.

Everything still works as before for me.

Mine has been acting up when I select Bluetooth audio. Controls all work fine but when the radio switches to the Bluetooth device (my iPhone) sometimes the audio won't play through the speakers even though sync is selected on the iPhone output control (sync/iPhone speakers). The song shows as playing, all controls work, I can skip tracks, change volume even though nothing is coming out, but I don't hear any audio in my car. I usually just close the media player and start over a few times until it works. It only happens once in a while.

I'm assuming its ios7 because the phone never did this before I updated and has always been flawless with sync.

Hey flynavy,

Have you tried doing a soft reset to your phone? Just hold the POWER and HOME buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears. Your phone will still be paired to SYNC when it powers back up. This should improve your Bluetooth audio connection.

I'll give that a try next time it acts up. Like I said it's not every time. But I'll try that if and when it does it again. Thanks.

I have this issue occasionally with iOS6, my workaround is to pause from the steering wheel, then play, and it starts up.
This is good news, I am assuming that most replies are using bluetooth?

Mine works flawlessly connected to USB port or as a bluetooth audio device

Text Messages still don't show Contact information with IOS 7.

At this point I don't know if its an Appe IOS issue or a Microsoft Sync issue. I would assume if it was an Apple issue it would be fixed by now. There hasn't been a SYNC update in a long time.

I just had this issue too when I bought a new phone, did you purchase a new phone or just upgrade the OS? I just had to delete my phone off the Bluetooth list and then reattach the new phone.

I have also heard that, where a password is needed, iOS 7 requires that you use 1234 instead of 0000 for the password.

Fyi. Just found out there is a big new sync version that fixes almost all the problems including text callerid. See TSB 13-9-22. Dealer install only but should be covered under warranty. I'll get it done at my next oil change.

I hope this will also fix the USB devices (thumb drive) not responding once in a while.... It's annoying having to remove the fuse in the kick panel or unpluging the battery to completely reboot the system.

Why those updates are not available online on the website ?

I too am wondering why this is not a public release.
